Love this gun. Had it since I was about 16-17. That's like 36 years. Wow. Bought it for like $15. Had it sent off last year to be refinished and re-worked. The guy did a great job! Looks better than new and shoots great. Remembering to keep one pump in it all the time now

Looks great!
While I can't prove it I have---over time---concluded that keeping a pump in a pop-off valve gun isn't necessary--perhaps even detrimental to the quad seal.
That said---I must now admit that my favorite 1400 stood by the door for years loaded for bear with a full 8 pumps before I had to rebuild it again so I may be full of beans. I'd love to see a discussion on that subject! Tom

Seems to work. I do it. One pump is next-to-nothing, pressure-wise. Would love to hear some opinions though.

Very nice 1400!
Enjoy!
Pete.
BTW: I don't store any of my Auto-cockers with air in them.

That is one sweet looking classic i love the wood grain. And the fact that you owned it so long makes it real cool.I wish they still made them like that.

Sweet looking rifle. Crosman used a lot of ash and elm back in the day.
