Title pretty much says it all - my Shadow has the original GTX MK-1 trigger in in and I'm wondering if it's worth considering upgrading to the GRT. Advantages of the newer trigger? Enough to justify the swap? The GTX is not a knock-off but one I purchased from Charlie when I bought the rifle. Thanks. -WSJ

Shoot it and if you don't like it, change it out. GRT trigger is a good one.

I probably wasn't as clear as I should have in my original post, not that it makes that much difference, but I bought the gun new in 2003 (I believe it was) and hated the Gamo trigger from the outset. So I got the GTX almost immmediately, which was a big improvement. I've shot the gun sporadically since then and in truth may only now be really making the effort to learn to shoot it properly.
Now of course I'm wondering if the GRT is enough better? improved? to justify upgrading to it from the old GTX.
Thanks. -WSJ

Once you get into shooting it again. Then evaluate whether you like the first stage to second stage transition. And you may try re-adjusting it for different travel. If you can feel it positively and predictably, then it is working properly. If it feels vague, then change it out. I can say that the GRT trigger is pretty light, and takes getting used to for some folks. But they're both MUCH better than the Gamo.

Trigger ordered. I've shot that rifle several hundred times since my first post and still cannot seem to get a good consistent feel for the current trigger. Just got a new Browning Leverage/XS 46U and the trigger on it is quite positive and predictable, so I've got a bit better frame of reference. For the money I figure it's worth a shot (pun intended). Thanks all. -WSJ
