since you have the gun apart...the stroke is simply the length the piston travels inside the compression chamber

Just finished putting the spring in... It's to big! The force on the lever is enormous! I have the trigger dismounted from the rifle, but I don't think it will cock anyway... Will post a picture...

Hatsan 125 and 135 use that spring.
Along with the walther talon and hunter guns.
Hatsan states the 150th is 2 inches shorter than the 125.
By the looks of the recievers on both, the torpedo is definitely smaller.

Ok. That's how the spring looked after being pressed inside the compression chamber... And that's how the spring looked when I took it off after one hour or so inside the chamber... Should it bend like that or when I pulled the lever to feel it it bended like that?

if you pulled the lever and cocked it ( minus trigger lockup) and the spring was too big, Then it will bind and deform as seen there.

If you just put it into the gun and cocked it a little without going all the way and it is an un set spring. Then it could look like that too.

Never got anywhere near the cocking position, beside the force being enormous, I think the spring guides got in the way because of the spring bending like that... Just finished removing 5 coils of the spring, do you think it's still usable?

If it is un set.... which it looks to be, then when you cock it the kink should go away.

My self I would use it.

Ok. All is assembled but the gun won't cock. I think I've assembled the trigger in the armed position and not the fired position, maybe this why the gun won't cock? I don't think it's the spring because when I assembled it I pulled the underlever all the way to antibear trap and it locked. do you think that this maybe the problem?

Do you have a dial or digital caliper, tape measure, and a calculator( can use the one on the computer).

That spring is obviously heavily canted in the tube. Even if he could have cocked it, the cycle would probably have been incredibly harsh and the spring very short lived IMO.

JMO. THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT SPRING FOR THE GUN. Set or unset Who ever sold you this mess obvious has NO ideal of what it fit or what it is. Being a Hatsan, if anything like the WFH, BUT THERE IS THE DIFFERENCE IN MINE. NO SPRING. Still should have shot good out of the box. You have walked off in DEEP WATERS. Just hope you have not done any damage to the cocking mechanic's of the gun. Without a crony you would have NO base of records to know if you helped the gun or not. Kinda like the seat of your pants FEEL in a car with 350 HP VS REALLY 150 HP. FELT BETTER but going backwards. Best of luck.

Ok. The 5 coils that I removed where sufficient. The gun Is working normally I think. The shot is very powerful. Tested it before coming to work, and at 30 meters there's much more impact sound on the wooden target than before, also the time between pulling the trigger and impact is noticeably shorter. But the spring is still slightly bent. Do you think this will wear the trigger system?

Just received reply from Hatsan saying that as far as they tell the pre cut spring is for the 150... Go figure! I was really on my own if not for you guys! Thank you very much!!! Like I said before, will be posting some results.

Ok. Hatsan says that the new 150s are longer than old ones. Maybe the Spanish vendor misplaced the spring. It's a bit strange that the 125 and the 135 would be longer than the 150. Maybe they are longer than the old 150 like mine. That would account for the 2 inches you were saying before, or something similar at least.

Hi again! The rifle is quite powerful, shot a rabbit at at least 40 meters yesterday, it was night. Got him right on the backside of the head, the pellet went straight through, but the exit wound shows how much more powerful the rifle is. Also i could see it's head taking a hard throw in the direction of the pellet! Don't have a cam to mount, if not i would post a video link.
Next step will be Gas Ram, a bit difficult to get here in Azores, but i will manage.

Ok, original spring measures some 29cms (11,41 inches), the extra spring measures 41cms (16,14 inches). Is it a big difference?
If it is, can I just cut it?
Yes the extra spring fits the guide ok, not loose.

Good to see yer got it shooting...

Heres the easy way to match diffrent springs..

1st.......
forget about the uncompressed length... What yer do is measure the wire thickness
times that by the number of coils..If both springs are the same the new one WILL fit..

2nd........
slide the new spring in the piston..if it fits.. yer good...

3rd.....
see if the guides/top hat will fit in the spring..if they fit... yer good..

4th.......
reassemble it....
