like new d 54 scope question ???

today i traded for an almost new d 54 in .177. my question is i have a new scope that came with a winchester 1100sxu and was wondering if the d 54 will destroy the scope? the winchester is a magnum as well as the d54 . i keep hearing how they destroy scopes and i want a scope to be able to use this gun to its full potential. got to thinking"hey i have a scope that might work" but before i ruin it i would like some opinions from some who might have tried 1 on a d 54 . it seems to be a nice clear variable power scope , i actually have 2 of them 1 is on my titan ,is much better than the center point that came with my titan

i just hate to mes it up but the winchester had the quatro reciol system ,it had just a tad of reciol and the d 54 has no recoil but your probably right it will take it as both are in the same range

May last ,but they are tough on scopes. There is no recoil to the shooter ,but the scope gets a ton of recoil. One from the piston/pellet firing that we are use too and another one from the sled system reaching its end of travel. Good luck!

Yes on a normal springer YOU absorb some of the recoil. Not so on the 54. The scope takes it all. Check your scope warranty before trying it on the 54.

If you can find a dampa mount it helps.

Sportsmatch are my favoite mounts. Very nice quality and they don't move. Not cheap but then again you get what you pay for. 

My wife shoots a 54 .22. I never scoped it as she perfers open sites. Hits my 2 inch square steel targets at 40 yards without a problem.

As been said these rifle are scope busters! I had 2 in 22cal and they ate 5 good leapers scopes in 2 weeks! so I sold them off! but I did learn from other AGers that those rifle need a fixed power non AO scope to have a better chance of holding up to the vibration produced by the non recoiling system of these guns, even tho you don't feel it its there and gos the the weakest link of the rifle the scope! I know their are some people who have no problems with scope issues with these guns but their allot of us who have so you take your chances with these rifles, just my 2ct
