fouling a benji barrell

recently cleaned my steroid 392 , used weed whacker line and a patch just moistened with wd-40, then 2 dry patches, well got lots of gunk out, but now as expected, its not shooting great , its all over the place , thought with a few shots barrell would foul enough to get accuracy the way it was , guess i shouldnt have cleaned it , does anyone know how many shots thru should bring me back to peek accuracy, probably have 50 thru it now

Mine is less accurate when the barrel is dirty.
I don't know what's going on with yours.

You need a more thorough inspection of that barrel, bright light and mirror etc. "Lots of gunk" ...? Are you sure you don't have seal mtl in there? How old is the gun? What type of "gunk"?

the gun is fairly new about 1500 rds thru it , i will look down barrell thing is before i cleaned it it shot pretty good , the gunk was black lead , will look down barrell see whats going on , wish i hadnt cleaned it , also will call tim to see what je thinks

well the more i shoot it the more its tightening up  strange .

yes it is ,the shots were all over the place then they were groupin in sub groups , now they are tightening , , i have another steroid , and it doesnt do this , makes me wonder , but looked at barrel with bore light all looks good

Might i suggest a good polish job on the bore? I polished all of my benji barrels and noticed vast improvements, plus, when it comes time to clean your barrel again, everything wipes right out very easily. My mrod only takes a single pass with my airgun boresnake to clean her up. . Good luck on your endeavors dude!

Barrels can tighten up group's as one season's ( leads) up the barrel as it fills in any imperfections. Some like it clean but all of my shooters like some lead in there. Keep track of accuracy as time go's by. I run a dry patch through mine when accuracy start's to wander. I would try GooGone as a cleaner also followed by several dry patch's. Ed

well i solved the mystery, seems the roll pins in the front that hold the lever were slowly backing out , was coincidental that i had just cleaned the gun , took it and put it on anvil and mushroomed the heads of the pins better now she is shooting the way she was , was hiting a tomato paste can with 11 pumps at 71 yds yesterday thats the benji i knmow  thanks for input i think i will polish the bore  tho  thx all
