im happy for you.
i love my m417,i took great joy yesterday,in heavy rain.....destroying a large ant hill at 30 yards with my m417.
the sound of the cphp hitting the wet pile.....awesome....and addicting.(a deep thud sound,followed by a spray of mud on impact)
after about 50 shots the 1 foot elevation hill was reduced to about a 4 inch tall pile of goopy mud.
im sure the ants hate my m417.

Got one a month ago. Can't use stock sights, so I put a red dot on it. Very surprised at how well it shoots. When I get a chance I'm going to try polishing the trigger. Good luck with it.

I think the trigger is plastic how will you polish it.

Mike I just smooth out any rough seams from the molding process. On plastic parts I mix a little molly paste with powdered graphite. There are some parts in there that are metal, and con be polished. My problem will be trying to take some of the travel out of the trigger.

Good idea, how hard would it be to make a brass trigger for the M417 i might give it a try.

Yes springs went flying. I draped a rag over the action so they stayed on the bench. Not to hard to figure out. Crosman doesn't have a schematic for this gun listed. One of the later model 760's has the same mechanism. Can't work on it again till this weekend. Babysiting grandson always comes first. Let everyone know it turns out. Surprised how much intrest there is in an 80 dollar gun. Funny 80 dollar gun with a 160 dollar red dot on it.

I bought 3 of them when they first came out i want to keep one stock and mod one the third will stay in it's box. FT piston and valve will be one mod for sure. I'm going to try to make a brass trigger. Now i need to open her up.

Put my M4 back together today. Polished a couple of parts, and lubed them. Helped with the roughness. I didn't mod anything, but have a few ideas. If anyone has a problem getting theirs back together, contact me. I will take some pictures and post them.

I had a FT piston and valve put in mine and it shoots around 600 Fps at 10 pumps.I got a pic from the guy that put it in for me and it had around 20 some screws in it.He told me not to go over 12 pumps because it is mostly plastic.But it is fun for plinking and pretty accurate with the right pellet.

Pictures of the gun open would be nice.How hard was it to get back together were the springs a pain in the Butt.

Not hard to put back together. Didn't take to long to figure where everything went. If i have time after the race tomorrow, I will try to take some pictures. Maybe I can get my son to help me make a video.
