Been putting a lot of rounds through the M417

Shot at 10 yards wearing an NRA high power shooting coat.
Using 8.2 grain Meisterkugeln pellets.
Still have not opened up the trigger yet. This was using the factory
sights, rear aperture and post front. I did turn the front post down to
0.035 diameter. I sight "punkin on a post" style in high power service rifle,
This one from the factory looked more like "punkin on a garage door".
The forum's match rules says 20 minute time limit, so I set a countdown timer
that I use in High power.
I was shooting on 10 pumps. When I fired the last round, I did my usual follow through
and called the shot. I looked down and had 17 seconds left on the timer.
Felt a little rushed because of the pumping. When shooting the forum's match
with my 2250XT, it still takes as long, but much more relaxed.
I tried to shoot 4 per bull, I think I only had three on the center bull though.
I did fire all 20 shots. I believe the lower right bull has five shots in it.
Target was hung as shown in photo.
I was a little apprehensive about buying this rifle after seeing targets that the earlier
purchasers had posted. But very happy with how it is shooting.
If I can only get the trigger better, very long pull still, and not predictable enough
for my taste.
The best part is though, they go where the trigger is broke.
That is what matters to me.
I think I will try to set this thing up for bulk fill CO2 for indoor shooting,
if I can get the trigger working better.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I will be trying an A2 type carry handle/rear
sight on this rifle. I believe the rear aperture height is a little shorter on those than on
Crosman's factory rear. This will help with the cheek weld, feels a little off
compared to an AR.
If not for the pumping, I would enter this rifle in the NMAR matches.
The 10 ring on the gamo5 targets used in the forums matches is dangerously
close to the size of the NMAR 200 yard reduced standing targets.

Very nice results. I regret returning my m417 but I am also happy with my disco .22 at the same time.

Yes, they have rifled barrels. From what i've heard, with a good scope and it's favorite pellet, it can get one holers up to 15 yards!

Yes, they do have rifled barrels.
I want one
. It's a tweaked out Pumpmaster 760. I wouldn't recommend switching between bb's & pellets though - the hard bb's will ruin the gun's rifled barrel for the pellets. Stick with one or the other, or get TWO! haha
. I also read that the open sights are great at the 6 o'clock hold.
