Open sights for Marauder pistol

I have a friend of mine who is an excellent shot with a powder burner pistol and I introduced him to the Marauder pistol, with a little cheap laser on it. He fell in love with the pistol, but not the laser. He asked me, "Why don't you put some real sights on this thing and let me try it again."
I already had the front sight blade for the P-rod double and had a nice rear sight from a trade, so I made a little riser block to be able to see past the tall circular magazine. It really works! Shooting side by side with my buddy shows me I have a long way to go with my pistol skills, LOL.
You can see the blade in the notch. The picture is fuzzy, like my vision.
The sights are high enough so that the circular mag is not distracting.
Detail of the riser and Crosman LPA mims sight. There is plenty of windage and elevation adjustment.
The P-rod has a Gaska extended shroud. All three tubes are clamped solidly together so that
the sight blade remains fixed. I have found on this pistol that the lack of float on the shroud seems to make no detectable difference in the accuracy, at least at open-sight distances.
edit: I think there is probably a difference between something "touching" the shroud, and the shroud being clamped solid. I have no proof, just observations.

An engineer by nature. The affliction is knowing that everything can be made better. It is easy to make one that works, but it is difficult to make on that works WELL.

Lloyd that is very nice. The long sight radius probably makes it exceptionally accurate at ranges that are normally outside pcp pistols, if you can hold it out there. I'd bet it would make a great fast reaction carbine for tight woods. I think you may have a marketable item there.

Engineering is the art of modeling materials we don't wholly understand, into shapes we can't precisely analyze, so as to withstand forces we can't properly asses, in such a way that the public has no reason to suspect the extent of our ignorance.

Very cool. Whenever I remove the scope to work on my pistol/carbine always I shoulder and aim down the length of it, and think of how neat it would be to use open sights.
