GREAT day at the show today!

Had a wonderful time as always, terrific to see old friends again and of course all the old airguns are pretty cool too. I didn't get any new guns of note, but I did score some vintage literature and a bunch of spare parts courtesy of generous pals.

Really nothing quite like the atmosphere - and good deals - at a venue like this, I'd encourage anyone to give it a shot. And this one is very strong for new-gun vendors as well by the way.

The "things" that 45flint had for me turned out to be a fabulous stack of early post-war German airgun catalogs -  awesome! Still studying them, but have already learned some cool stuff about some fave guns. Who knew that th HW 55 was already on the market in 1952...?!?!

I sold a two and bought two: a decent early-60's Diana 27, and a rather wacky Japanese copy of the classic BSF S20 pistol. More will follow later, lol.

But the BIG find was an awesome selection of old parts, from a dealer that had bought out a big stash of Beeman shop stuff, apparently from the 1980's. This included:

+ Two FWB 65 recoil locks, and their attachment screws. I've been looking for one of these flippin' things for 20 years, and woulda driven the 400 miles to Columbus for that alone...!!!
+ Mint Diana Diopter 60 match sight
+ New R8 (= old HW 50) and HW 35 pistons, complete with synthetic seals
+ Big set of FWB 65 front sight blades (including the tall ones you need with the recoil locked out)
+ Big set of Walther/FWB/Diana rifle front sight inserts
+ FWB 65 and 300S breech seals
+ HW 55 weight sleeve attachment screws
+ Ancient 1950's HW 35 piston, and new OEM leather seal for it
+ A LOT of HW stock screws, cocking links, Rekord trigger parts, and more
+ Maybe coolest of all (for you guys who freak out over the dreaded "galling issues" with HW's two-part cocking links) - an interesting spring-loaded plunger assembly that replaces the front stock attachment screw on the HW 35...stay tuned for more on that one, ha

Y'all REALLY need to put proper airgun shows on your agendas.

Nice haul of small parts and goodies. Does your spring loaded stock screw look like this one? It has a phillips head.

Exactly! I ended up with three of these sets, which have four parts. Any comments you have on how to install it and how well it works would be most welcome.

The screw, in my photo above, came on an HW35 that was tricked out at the old ARH. The nut has also been ground on two sides just like yours. Trouble is that the height of the threaded barrel part on mine was shorter than factory. Because of this, it took a bit of finagling to actually keep it in there while I started the screw. Had to come in from the front and hold it in place with a screw driver and then carefully nest the action in the stock and then start the screw.
As you can see, in pic below, the nylon insert rides on the linkage with whatever pressure that the spring is pushing on it. However, it still has the notorious click that the older HW35s are known for. The only reason I left this setup is because I believe it may have been a Robert Law concept. Don't know that as fact though.

Sold three airguns and a book.  I knew I got those post war catalogs to the right guy!!  And bought nothing, my goal reduce the collection at bit.

It's cool that ol' Robert Law had a hand in this! The ones I got are probably leftovers from Beemans' buying out ARH's stock of parts back in the day.
