Introduction

Hello to all members, mods and other people,

As you might expect, my name is Kevin and I'm living in The Netherlands. I've always had a slight fascination for weaponry, which of course includes (air) guns. The only experience with air guns I had in the past was with a semi-auto CO2 air gun (Umarex Beretta pistol), which I picked up as a 16y/o chap on holiday in Spain about 20 years ago. Had fun with that for several years but through the years, I lost it and never bought one again, assumimg it was illegal here. But turns out that it's much easier to get a lead projectile blasting device than one that spews out plastic pellets..

It is only since a year or so that I grew more interest in air guns again and when looking around on the web, I was stunned with how things have evolved. After a little investigation to make a decent purchase, while on a limited budget, I ended up buying an FX Wildcat Compact .22 a few months back. It's not really comparable to the previous co2 pistol and boy, does it purr. Combined it with a Hawke IR scope, since therenis no iron sight. This purchase was shortly followed by a Hatsan Velox, which I'm not sure about yet what to think of it and an Umarex T4E just for funh..ehh self defense.

It's fair to say to say that I'm still a noob and I end up on this forum most of the times, when digging for information. Still, some of the times it doesn't answer all my questions or I end up with new/additional ones. So I thought wth, I might as well sign up, resulting in me here, trying to make some kind of introduction. I've had some difficulties with all the recent purchases and as a mechanical engineer, I like to take things apart and fix them myself but I see that it's not uncommon for guns being sent back to the manuacturer occasionally. So maybe some advice now and then would be nice as well, when encountering difficulties.
