Texas Trip

Just got back from our Texas trip to see our daughter and family.
My son-in-law and I made our pilgrimage to Fredericksburg.
Sort of a let down this time.
The WWII of the Pacific Museum is mostly closed for renovation.
But that is only half the draw for FBG.
We love the German food and bier,,,,,,usually.
My fav is Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzen.
Thoroughly enjoyed it with dinner on Thursday eve ad Friedhelm's Restaurant.........an establishment that we had eschewed in prior visits.
EXCELLENT !
Then, on Friday, we stopped on midday at The Auslander.
They have fried mushrooms that are out of this world!
BUT..........
Their POM was actually SKUNKY ! smelled and tasted BAD !
This place is my GO TO for that bier and shrooms............ MOST disappointing!
Then on Saturday, the town got so crowded.........overrun with tourists.......couldn't get to ANYTHING !!
So, we headed for Krause's Cafe in New Braunfels..........they have my Bier there.......
Had my taste buds set, but..............ALAS..it was NOT to be......
There was some sort of outdoor market/bazaar going on that made parking impossible!

Oh, well..............
