Late night rattus #6

I knew there was a male rat that was with the female rat #5 I shot recently but he didn't come back till a couple nights ago. I set up for him last night but slept thru the push notifications but was ready again tonight and I woke up albeit groggily to get him at around 12:40am. I had the Notos pre-loaded with a JSB sleepimg pill so I cocked it (it had been de-cocked), turned on the red LED flashlight mounted on the scope, set the Notos on the tripods y-yoke and looked thru the scope and he was there facing slightly to my right happily munching away on the crunchy peanut butter. I placed my aim point behind his right eye and pulled the trigger....thwack...down he went tumbling off the bait station onto the lawn where he expired quickly. A young adult male just over a foot long.

Great shooting as usual Randall! 
I think the raccoons and possums I used to shoot a lot between midnight and 2am got me used to going to bed after midnight so 00:40 would be the time I 'd be falling asleep..  Although I did get up at 3am a few times to shoot one and I remember thinking where am I and what is that annoying "Ding Dong" before I was completely awake.  The worst was opening the window when it was 10-15 deg out and I am in my underwear.  That woke me up real fast!    I do miss sniping critters at night though.

LOL....Thank you Harry! Yeah, the older I get the more I wonder why the heck is my phone making a weird chime from a deep sleep...😂👍! I guess I am lucky as the coldest I have shot a rat late at night is in the 40's! 10-15 degrees would definitely be a RUDE AWAKENING! 😂
