362 .25 conversion

Looks good.  Since last summer, I bought a PRod off the classifieds and am converting it to a 25 using a Marauder barrel. It's been test fired, it has good power and is very adjustable, and it's accurate. There's still a little work to do before it's ready for a walnut stock. When I get it resealed and a moderator fitted, I'll write it up, some might find it interesting. In the meantime,  I'll be watching your build,  it's got my interest.

I assembled the anniversary edition 362. Painted the black end piece to look more like wood. Brass breech and tube end plugs look nice.
I am going to tap the original front sight 1/2 20 to install it to the threaded barrel adapter. This way the original peep sight can be reinstalled. I will run a few pellets over the chronograph soon.

I spray painted the end piece with a light brown color as a primer and then brushed on the two umber colors that I purchased at hobby lobby store. The darker shade in the inset section.
The stub on the pivot plug is there to  rotate or remove with pliers if necessary.

Getting closer. The AE was assembled but then the check valve was leaking. I put it aside and assembled the other standard 362 after polishing the check valve sealing surface where the machining was done.
I did some testing over the chronograph. 25.4 JSB:
8 pumps 500 fps=14.1 fpe
12 pumps 600 fps=20.3 fpe
16 pumps 682 fps=26.2 fpe
I was going to test 20 and 24 pumps but the gun fired by itself while pumping so I discontinued the test.
Investigated the issue and very little trigger travel would fire it off. Took it apart and the sear was too low to engage the hammer fully. Did some filing to allow the sear to engage fully and reassembled.
The valve at 3.5 cc requires more pumping than I prefer. I have a spacer that I can use to reduce to 3.0 cc next time.
Tomorrow I will test 20 and 24 pumps.  So far happy with the results and confident I will reach my goal of 33 fpe.

24 = 786   34.8 fpe
Heavier pellets may make a few more fpe .

Nice going, that's a hammer! At 11 pumps I get 570fps with JTS 29gr flat point pellets, and it pounds targets. Any more than 11pumps retain air.  Yours will be even more of an animal! Post some pictures when you can,  please.

Thanks. It’s got some top end power but the performance at lower pumps was not as good. I think the results with the spacer installed inside the valve will be better. 25 fpe at 12 to 14 pumps would be a good everyday usage level. I had a puff of retained air at 24 pumps.
I have a busy few months ahead but will try to get scope mounted and accuracy tested.

I installed the spacer inside the valve.
8 pumps : 527 15.7 fpe
12 pumps: 643 23.3 fpe
14 pumps: 667 25.1 fpe
So ended up right where I wanted it for power. The pressure in the valve is around 2000 psi at 14 pumps.
Should hold up well here . Too much pressure can cause the valve to shift rearwards on these.
Tried to load a HN ftt pellet but it didn’t want to chamber with the flow through bolt. The bolt pressing at the skirt makes it hard for the skirt to compress into the chamber.
Maybe they could be sized ? But hopefully the Jsb king pellets perform well and be the pellet of choice.
