Handling feels good not heavy or light, not long or short. This Nitro Mag Gas Piston Air Rifle is abit louder than most of the other Breakbarrels Ik heb. Some descriptions state it has a baffled muzzle, it is not baffled and abit too loud for shooting in the backyard.
Before beginning I cleaned the barrel with a nylon brush and a coated rod followed by a mop and bore snake. Next was to add thread tape to the stock screws as I happened to run out of blue lock tight. I then added drops of pelllgun oil to the cocking link on the barrel and on the two piece cocking arm and on the chisel lockup.
Lockup is chisel type, manual safety is in the trigger guard, red fiber front sight green fiber rear sight. The Windage is numbered and the elevation is not numbered. The cocking arm is a 2 piece arm.
This has a very good adjustable trigger I didn't have to make any changes to the trigger setting. Some travel with a light stop at the end of the trigger travel, good I can send the pellet when I want.
Seems to have good power. For the first 200+ shot I used CPHP 14.3gr to get some break in shots. They did ok.. I recrowned the muzzle and opened up the breech leade as it had very little taper to fully seat the pellets. Now pellets load all the way in the breech. Has a good tight leade might be very good with light fit pellets- mind you, there are heavy pellets that have light fit.
Soon I will recrown the recrown and if I need to I will be bending the barrel to hit closer to center as the rear sight is adjusted abit right.
8.13.24 , 51°F - I took a walk half a mile west along Vak hill. I stopped at a place called The Canyon. As I was eating some black berries I found a empty can, making for a good target filled w sand. I set the can at guessing eyeballing 30 yards and set a 2"x2" piece of wood next to the can. 40 shots later the center of the can was non existent. Fun, Loud but fun.
250+ Shots in, some smoke left after the shot.
CPUM 14.3gr
Good consistent fit.

After more shots I'm sure the consistency will tighten up, other pellets may be a bit more consistent in FPS Spread.
After more shots are in I'll be adding a scope and check on other pellets through Chronorun and check for accuracy. So far it does good at 30 yards open sights.
Later I will add pics when I get back to My Sta rlink. Working hard at work... XD
Excellent Work Stay Alert

Just seeing your post, I too have the Remington Express Hunter in .22. I've had it about six years now and have done a little work on the trigger, got longer screws for the stock and added flat, and lock washers. I've put about 2500 pellets through it.
I found that my gun prefers 18+grain pellets, it doesn't shoot the CPHP's well at all. The only sub 18grain pellets it seems to like are the Per. GTO's.
I hope to get out a couple of times squirrel hunting during the text several weeks.
Hope you're enjoying your gun.
