Is Polydimethylsiloxane the same as silicon oil?

I have a PROD with a small leak and I wanted to put a few drops of silicon oil in when I pump it up. I have Aim Top "silicon oil." It is Polydimethylsiloxane and I was wondering if it was safe to use for this purpose. If it isn't, what brand would be best to use? Thank you all in advance. I tried searching first before posting not sure if I missed it but didn't see anything.

Good man i myself would not inject silicon oil in it what reason may i ask? David

It has a very small leak. I have read that this is a good way to lubricate the seals and or move an obstruction in the fill port. I have also read that it is a good practice in general for pcp seals.

My Notos every so often gets a leak somewhere in the air tube. Members have recommended applying a bit of silicone oil to the opening of the fill probe when refilling. It does resolve the issue. Is it detrimental? I don't know, but so far I'm not experiencing any.

Get some RC car shock oil. 20 or 30 weight. It is pure silicone and fairly inexpensive. Like this -

This one’s the most common brand and is about $6 for a 2oz bottle 👍

Great, thanks for all the suggestions. I already ordered the RWS and it will be here tomorrow. It's weird but some things labeled silicon oil don't seem to really be silicon oil. In any event the leak isn't bad just more of a nuisance. It has been the same for app a year and isn't getting worse.

The short answer is yes. Polydimethylsiloxane is the main component because it has a very low chance of ignition.

The PROD though is very easy to work on.

If it’s the fill adapter, just change the whole thing.

I use a Benjamin Fortitude one (part ME-105) ‘cuz it’s shorter, made of SS, and is a 1-piece assembly.
