Hi all

For those who have experience with both the Junior 300S and the full sized 300 or 300S what was your preference, and why?

I have handled both, and there is a significant difference in the weight and balance for sure.
I would imagine that most people would prefer the Mini, whether they were competing or shooting for fun.
I have no idea what percentage of production they represent.

I have owned 6 of these, 4 full size and 2 minis.  I think at this point, the full size 300s I would dedicate to bagged shooting with a scope or 10m standing with open sights.

The minis are more fun all around shooting and lighter to me.  Both of mine are scoped.

I have found no differences in accuracy.

Keep in mind the 150/300/300S guns were built as full-race 10-meter match guns. Which is to say heavy beasts fired offhand by young, fit, well-practiced pros, wearing special gloves and stiff coats and such.

It's the long barrel with full-length weight sleeve on it that really ups the heft - having that extra weight out so far in front of your hands is a bear. The 75mm shorter, un-sleeved barrel on the Junior makes a huge diff, and results in a much nicer plinker for a puny old sod like me.

I think the triggers are fantastic on all of them.  I owned a 603 junior once, the ssp I never really warmed up to.  The trigger on them I recall had a couple of quick adjust wheels for slack and weight.

The 300s triggers slide back with the rifle, but are nice and light.  Of course adjustments take a little extra work.  I have set all of mine up and have never touched the triggers since on adjustments.

I've never shot any of the FWB pneumatics, but I can vouch the 150/300/300S triggers are fabulous.

The trigger on my FWB 601 is the nicest trigger of any gun I've ever fired.  The problem is, now I compare every trigger to the 601 and they are never as nice.

General Statement, Target airguns have the nicest of all triggers.  This applies to both pistols and rifles.
