Seneca Dragonfly MK2 - what wo8d is stock made from?

Any idea what species of wood used for these stocks?  The MK1 and MK2 I have appear to be the same st9ck wood but I have no clue what it is beyond "hardwood." Thanks.  Scott

I believe it is Beech.

I've read where the DF II ( and the wood stock Stormrider) have German Beech stocks. Both of mine have really nice straight grain for a cheaper wood.

Reason I asked was the bottom part of forearm is getting shamefully scratched up from laeaning/resting it on the shingled roof of our mudroom when I'm on the back deck and grab it for shots of opportunity at starlings, squirrels, etc.  if I plan to be out there on patrol I take a sandbag to put on the roof as a rest.  But if it's a quick shot of opportunity at something up in the trees it's rested on the edge of the low roof.

The wood looks like something that would take well to refinishing when the time comes, but if I knew the species I'd have a better idea.

Interesting if it really is German beech for a rifle made in China.
