  Here's my latest find from my old work buddy...

had it apart a number of times as the hammer kept locking up on single action.
Got it cured.  Waiting for pellet clips to come in.

That's the 10008SB, the first airgun I ever fired.
I have one just like it, also a 1997.
My dad had it when I was little and eventually gave it to my cousin who I traded with to get it back.
Mine needs seals, and I've kind of always been told they're not really worth putting money into.
It used to seal just enough to shoot for a bit, and these pistols have a lot more punch than you'd expect.

If I remember correctly mine is also having a similar hammer issue, because I didn't get it reassembled 100 % correctly.
I'm not sure when I'll ever break down and get it going again.

 Hmm I wonder what the SB stands for?  Also realized I wrote the date wrong. What I took to be a 9 turns out is a 7
so July of 97.
 What I like is it has a rifled barrel and fully adjustable rear sight.

 There is a little crooked sear for single action (kind of looks like a lightning bolt) and a tiny spring for it. the sear  has to go against the pins on the backside of the hammer just right.
  Many attempts and I must have lucked into it.
 My last try was to smooth up that sear with a file (it is stamped out so one side left with burrs/sharp edge) and greased everything  and somehow it's working.

 I had a 1088 a few years ago that I tried to take apart and threw in the trash as parts flew everywhere.
 This time I studied YT videos.

1008SB is the silver version with black grips.
The earliest 1008's were black with brown grips, then with black grips.
All black & the SB are the most common.
There's also a shiny gold version with black grips and with brown grips.


Btw I was wrong about mine not functioning, I did have it back together correctly.
It still doesn't work but I tried to fix it with things I have on hand yesterday with no success.

What I fou d for getting it back together is to get the hammer and that little lightning bolt sear installed, cock the hammer back,  then carefully install the the trigger assembly.
I tried so many times the other way with zero success,  with the hammer cocked back the trigger assembly drops right in.

Yeah it just needs seals, and because it's mostly plastic the motivation to put money into it isn't very high.

 If this one winds up needing them I'll probably do it. Same as with the Daisy 880.
  but then I like to tinker, sometimes I can put things right, sometimes I can even improve them.

 My clips came in this morning. Sighted in, and I think it's awesome! lol
