Those familiar with Helicoils?

From what I have been told, I am the third owner of this particular air rifle.  It has been heavily modified by both of the previous owners leaving me to sort out what has been done correctly and those things not so much.  There are a few small metric bolt that have damaged or stripped threads in the aluminum frame/ block and I plan to use Helicoil type inserts to effect repairs.  Question is, do I Lock-tight the helicoil insert into place and if so with red, blue or another type thread locker?  Thanks in advance/

 I always use the red lock tite, IIR some Heli coil kits come with it.

I used to do aircraft, and we Never used loctite on Heiicoils.  A quality Helicoil will not back out because of the sprung oversize of the insert provided that you use the correct tap and tap drill and installation tool.  My .02

That's what I was going to say. I've never had a properly installed helicoil back out and I've done plenty on MC.

Problem with using them is there might not be enough material around the hole being repaired. I also seriously doubt the need for that much strength.

+1 for both points. 99.9% of my thread repair has been on aluminum engines.
