I finally bought one a couple weeks ago when there was a good sale on Amazon. I bought it to put my carbine parts on, so only shot one cartridge, then swapped on an 18" barrel and carbine stock. I made one big mistake with it; I only bought ONE! I should've bought a second one to keep as a pistol, but I have that base covered.
Novagun, make sure you don't overtighten the cap, I did and got a tiny hole in the cart. Less is more in this instance.

Novagun,
Ive had my 2240 for nearly a couple years now. Started as a 2240 and is now a 1740x10.1". Ive tried a number of barrels on here a .22x10.1", .22x14", but i found i like the .177 barrel that likes the .177 CPPirhana 10.5grain. I get around 40 good shots around 70°F and around 35 good shots at 50°F. I havent chrono run this one but it does very good to 20 yards.
I have opened the transfer port ends and ID using a dremel. The hammerspring is shimmed with 2 of #6 lockwashers. Stock bolt modified into a modflow bolt. I also compressed and stretched the trigger return spring to where i like the trigger travel and weight. 1 of 2240 barrelband + 2 of 2260 barrelbands, BuckRail Dr Murfee mount w short vertical grip, BRLDC and a Spraypainted 1399 stock that has been shortened by 1.5".
The barrel has 3 layers of threadtape to rid the breech-barrel of slop or freeplay. I also added a #6 torx screw to the plastic breech to help hold the barrel inplace.
I have an extra barrel in .22x10.1" that i do mount and use once inawhile but for a long time this has had the same barrel that likes the 10.5gr Pirhana. I have Alot of CPP 10.5gr but not many barrels like those heavy wideheaded pellets.

You can make one into a carbine with an easy bit of effort.
