Crosman BB gun HELP needed

I got the plunger seal replaced and the gun back together.  Good news it shoots strong.  Bad news is that it won't feed from the reservoir whether you load a few BBs or a single one.  If you cock the gun and drop one down the barrel, it works like it should.

The trigger, lever and plunger seal are duplicates of red ryder.  The The plunger has a plastic roller on top and the spring is a couple coils longer.  The gun is more fiddly to work on than a daisy 1938b, 1894 or 25.  Hopefully, I will not have to tear it down again.

Is there an easy fix?

Can you tell if the plunger-air tube is rearwards enough when cocked to allow a BB to the magnet? Not sure if there's a port on the Cowboy to see down in there.

I'm not too familiar with official terms of BB gun guts, but the only things I can think of is if that plunger tube is advanced into the shot tube/barrel blocking things or maybe if the barrel was pulled during disassembly and the feed assembly was installed upside down? Have you tried to swing the muzzle from pointed down to up and give the gun a good shake to see if it feeds?

The crosman cowboy does not have an opening to see seated BB like a red ryder.  Tried shaking and lever pointed both up and down.  Still no go.
