Hatsan weaknesses

Hi everyone,

I'm aware of the potential leakage failures for the Vortex pistons, and of Quattro trigger breakage.  I have also heard that some of the plastic stocks may not stand up to recoil long term.

Are there any other such issues that I'm unaware of?  Just curious, I am not a Hatsan basher.

Well, Hatsan barrels are pretty much a roll of the dice, like on most affordable makes (and many more expensive ones). That's a biggie. Not only Hatsan triggers, but Hatsan safeties not too seldom end up breaking in use. Hatsan plastic stocks are basically time bombs in low temperatures, while the wood stock finishes are unsightly a lot of the time. Hatsans also come straight off the factory a little banged up (scratches, dents etc.), which would be unthinkable to most manufacturers.

I say all this as a Hatsan fan, who will snatch up a good deal Hattie in no time flat.

Hatsan uses poor quality steel for some of it's nuts and bolts.  I try to keep spares of stuff I know is going to wear out like the SAS barrel pivot bolt and the small locking screws.  The barrel pivot shims wear also.  I suggest picking up a few spare breech seals and a piston seal as well.

 I would say the Hatsan 125V .25 that i have is a very good shooter. I just dont like the funky dovetail / weaver rail < not a Picatinny rail. The design of the rail limits mounting options, also the looong LOP is another thing combined with the rail which should have been mounted closer to the rear < 2" of wasted space on the rail where they could have added another mount slot..  Anyway scoped is like, HhEeAaVvYy.
Another is the rear sight has some side play, so i push the sight to the right before beginning shots.
 Love the Power though. Thump!! WHACK!! XD
Mine likes HN BHE 28.5.gr, HNBH 27.5gr and HNFTT20.1gr at 30-40 Yards.

P.S. I think all Hatsans includes Redonkeuloso  Scope rings, whoever chose the rings at Hats an  doesnt have enough OCPD to make sure they work good, in which the included rings are hor rib le.

Well the bundled scopes are terrible so it really doesn’t matter that much about the rings.

 The Optima 3-9x32mm does good, holds POI,, as long as i dont adjust too much up, or right,, im a scope shimmer so..  Being Non AO ofcourse you wont get clear picture at 10 yards, good however at 30-40 yards.
 Despite the list i put up above,, im Sure id absoulhootly < i know i misspelled on purpose>  Love a H125 in SpringPiston..

I don't know how many shots you have under your Optima but they aren't really springer rated scopes and they tend to fail sooner or later.  My first two failed sooner.  My current Optima resides on a Crosman 1400 and while it gets shot quite a bit it is holding up just fine on the pumper.  I love my Hatsan magnums and shoot them a lot.  All have several thousand shots through them.  Given that these guns are very powerful and the quality of construction is not that great they wear out with continued shooting.  The screws, shims, and washers wear first but eventually the pivot holes in the barrels wear,  the cocking linkages get sloppy,  springs fail, the dreadful plastic spring guides just disintegrate.  Be prepared to replace all this stuff if you are going to shoot your Hatsans a lot.  These are not heirloom quality guns so don't expect them to last forever.

 The first two i had were used for awhile then passed them on to a buddy for his LR. Ive used the newest one for 100 shots, staying together sofar. I have a 4x32mm Barska waiting for more shots in to replace the Optima. On the HEdge .25 I Mounted the scope early as the sights were adjusted low and had to rest my cheeck exactly on the stock, buzz in my cheeck,, first 50+ shots have alot of recoil. 
 All things wear in with use, i understand that,, My H125V has around 1000 pellets through, HEdge .22 also around 1000. I have A fairly new H Edge in .25. With 100 shots in. For Hatsans, parts might be annoying to get., idk havent had to deal w hatsan, but others said theyr customer service is,, lacking ?

Bit late to the party here but I have had two Hatsans  one a 55S. Actually two because the scope rail fell off the first one  The other is an H 99 which is a 95 but with a sliding  barrel lock   After many shots the slider broke  it broke at a place where the manufacturer drilled a hole in the bar leaving only 1 mm or maybe 2 to carry the load  When i found it i was perturbed about how stupid it was . Both guns were and still are discharge crashers   coarse discharge characteristics  scope killers,and in my never humble opinion very substandard rifles. Talk about Gamo never again well Hatsan never again.  I looked at a Hatsan  25 mega rifle at Hunting and Fishing  Not for me because it just did not kook right  Even much amateur airgun mechanicing has failed to make them acceptable guns.one thing I will say in their favour is that the machining on the pistons was very good but the steel is very soft.

Regarding my Hatsan PCPs, I have not found any weaknesses of flaws.

With my Hatsan 25 SuperTact, I think the dovetails are not 100% fully aligned with the action.

The Hatsan Airtact I have... for the $100 I have paid for it.... just nothing to complain. The stock is also fiber injected and solid as a rock. Barrel is fine, trigger is okay, shot cycle is very sweet.

I will definitely buy a Hatsan again.

  Im not here to step on toes,,,, but....
You might not have had a good experience with Hat san and G amo. But they do very good for me. I dont expect them to last forever, i have alot of Airguns to spread the use over many Models. Yeah beware of the guy with one gun. While he has used the same setup over and over, well he or they will need parts or a replacement gun soon enough.
 My Air attention may be  be spread out among many models, but it only takes a couple few shots to remember a trigger, and for the most part i remember flight paths, if i dont remember a quick look into Chairgun will give me my flight path answer. Now Chairgun may not be exact but it gives you a good idea on how the pellet should be flying at different ranges. I would buy another G amo or Hat san if i wanted to. But i think Ux uses better triggers, though seem to they take longer to break in compared to other brands. Im thinking  a Wood Edge .22 would be very fun

Consensus when I bought their 125 in 2015 hasn't changed. Low end quality control,  hit and miss customer service, roll of the dice if it will hold up.

Mine's in pieces still, but most issues are worth repairing. Most.

Like every other manufacturer, their higher end products are better. Their scopes are the one exception, no mater which you get they are junk.
