Many moons ago I thought I might like to get into modern airguns. Like a lot of us I grew up with a Daisy lever action BB gun. When my dad gave it to me I was so young I couldn’t cock it. So I ran around pointing and saying pechu pechu. Every once in a while he would load it with a few bb’s and cock it for me!
So I thought why not get those days back. I went to the Crosman Custom shop and ordered a fully loaded 2300 kt with an LW barrel. It shot great and I spent time after each workday shooting. I went on line and found a simple trigger mod and it shot awesome.
The gun shipped to me in a foamed lined box with a certificate of authentication and a receipt with all the upgrades I ordered.
One day at our local range one of my buddies who had a similar gun showed up with a different pistol. I ask him why he bought it and he said because it had a two stage trigger.
Well I had to have a new gun so I sold the crosman.
The rest is history.

I believe it was 1971 and I was 15 years old. I really wanted a Crosman 99 and asked for one for Christmas. I had the local sporting goods store order one for me. A few days later they told me it had been discontinued, but Crosman had just introduced the 622 which is what I ended up with and it served me well. Fast forward 40 years when I got interested in airguns again, and was able to buy and restore a used model 99. It is probably my favorite airgun of all time.

I got a brand new Crosman model 1400 for my fourteenth birthday. When I left home to go to college I gave it to my younger brother. He did not cherish it.
About four years ago I discovered GTA while looking for advice about a cheap Chinese springer I had bought.
Here I found people who were still collecting and shooting these older guns. I started shopping for a 1400 though the member classifieds. I now own an example of all three major variants and I’m looking for a Montgomery Wards version.

I have some 40 rifles and pistols in my collection. Mostly Crosman. But a few Daisy's, Hatsan, Winchester, Benjamin, and Springfield Armory. Including the model 99 Crosman and Daisy Targe Special. Hahn model 166 and matching pistol. A model 70 & 160 first variants as well. I also have a MODEL 112 bulk fill Co2 pistol with 8" barrel from like 1953.
