What year of manufacture would you estimate on this one?I believe it's a dart shooter, has a push barrel like a Crosman 350 with a breach to load. It works, but fires a lead .20 cal pretty weak. Would darts be available for this? Thanks much.

I think you'd find it's .21 caliber intended for 'slugs' or darts of that size. By the features it looks to be made somewhere between 1900 and 1915.

Part of the reason it shoots "weak" is due to most likely shooting .21 felted ammo, so you're getting a lot of blow by.

This is a model #1, the most common of all the Quackenbush airguns. This is a later production gun with the steel buttplate, one line markings, and round trigger guard. The #1 was made until 1938.

Thanks,
Doing some research I see they made 36000 before the owner died, this is a 32000 S/N. It seems to be a very well built gun, I don't believe these have any leather/rubber seals? Any ideas where to obtain darts? I imagine they are hard to come by. Thanks

There are no new made felted slugs that I know of. Mic a .22 dart, it may be small enough to fit. The piston is a metal to metal fit.

I can not read your serial # when I enlarge your photo but here are some production dates taken from Quackenbush records and are in John Groenwolds book.
#32041. Feb 11 1911
#32458 Sept 20. 1912
#32643. Jan 29 1913
#32841. Oct. 13 1913
These should narrow the date for you

My gun is serial number 1-36072. When was it manufactured? I found some felted slugs many years ago and the gun worked fine with them.
