Dan and Deerstalker, Thanks for posting this stuff. If I understand correctly, it seems that the R7's lower powered .177 drops 2.2" between 25 and 60 yards, while the R9's higher powered 22 drops more that 4" between 25 and 50 yards. I guess that's why people refer to the 22 as loopy. However, Deerstalkers chart was encouraging for this 22 cal R9 shooter, as my urban back yard range has me shooting 15 to 30 yards. Anything more and I'll be in a lot of trouble.
Wow, my HW 50, zeroed at 27 yards, needs 4.5 milrads hold over at 55 yards. -Y
I love pushing the R7 out to 55 yards... Here's a video of me shooting spinners at 55 yards with my R7. These little guns are gems.
Very cool, Dan! The HW30/R7s are such plinking machines, there is no end to the fun had with them.... I love that reticle and after buying my first Hawke scope that had it, it kept me buying Hawke scopes. I sure wish Hawke had continued to support the Chairgun program.... I used to really enjoy that program...
At the bottom right are links to download both the Mac and Windows version (Legacy - no support) Maybe try again to make it work. ( does not work on 64-bit Windows - maybe does on 32-bit )https://www.hawkeoptics.com/chairgun-and-x-act-end-of-life.html
I love shooting my R7 at “long range.” When it wears a scope, it is a Hawk 2-7. Right now it’s a Williams peep. Everyone should have at least 3 of these: 1 scoped, 1 peeped and 1 open sights.
