My Computer got a face lift yesterday

My computer's dvd drive in my computer was really acting up bad so I finally took it apart yesterday for a thorough cleaning plus I installed 16gigs of ram instead of having 4 gigs, I was going to install a terabyte solid state hard drive however there wasn't a way to mount it in the old ATX case so I put that off until I get an adaptor for it.  Actually I might just order a compact ATX case and motherboard for that solid state HD and use an external bluray burner instead.  Anyway this desktop is so much faster for encoding it's unreal, also installed new software for linux that is much better for making dvd's, I've already burned 4 dvd's since I put it in to give to my brother for the first eight episodes of "Yellowstone" this year, the next 6 episodes won't start until this coming summer.  I'm going to probably have 4 episodes of 1923 burned by this evening on two DVD's as well.  There will be a new episode of 1923 on Sunday too.  I did have to lube the dvd drive and clean everything including the laser which wouldn't read much of anything and sure the heck wouldn't burn a dvd anymore.  I used white lithium grease on the travel rods and worm spindle coming out of the motor for adjusting the pickup during playing and burning.  The drive actually had a lifetime warranty on it when I bought it but the place I bought it is no longer in business anymore.

How do you get the "Yellowstone" or TV signal into your computer ?
I used to do something similar years ago - but that was years ago.

Robert I get everything from newsgroups these days, it's only $10 a month for unlimited downloads, episode 9 of season 5 was the last one until this summer there will be another 6 episodes for season 5.
I use to have an HDTV tuner card in an older computer that I would hook right up to my antenna outdoors, that was quite some time ago but I haven't gone that route for years.  I'm thinking about getting me a dvr for my antenna and started recording the old westerns over the air then get them off the dvr on to my puter then edit out the commercials.  The commercials these days are super garbage as are a lot of the TV shows these days but there still are some that I like yet, I'll be doing a DVD for the first two episodes of 1923 this evening and probably the next two episodes as well.

I currently have a TIVO OTA DVR and record many Over-The-Air shows for replay to my TV.
The recorded program to the TIVO hard drive is not readable by neither my Windows nor Linux computers.

I understand the old TV tuner card to input signals into your computer.
I used to play DVDs into my computer and record the payback to make copies with an old card ( do not remember what it was )

But I do not understand what you mean by "usergroups" to download ?
Is the download what you could say is a "jailbreak" app ? - Then I understand.
