FWB 65

I found a barrel weight for my FWB 65 on ebay the other day. It came in late yesterday and I got it clamped on,  I really helps the balance to me, allowing me to hold it steadier in an offhand, bullseye shooting position.  The gun does not look as racy with the weight mounted, but I'll take performance over looks.

Accurate pistol shooting is HARD!  I do not think most rifle shooters understand.....

If the muzzle weight helps, more power to you!  Why do you think they were "invented".

And it's even harder offhand.
And then it's even harder than that in competition.
And after years of trying you suddenly find that you are old and then it's even harder.   LOL

It's been nearly sixty years since I shot competition and that was indoor smallbore rifle.  I like quality arms be it be powder burners or air arms.  My thing now is off hand plinking.  I  have a set up where I easily hang soda cans,  s hooks on a pice of twine.  I like to see them jump with a good hit.

Well I can tell you for sure I will never do position shooting again.   Once I'm down on the ground prone, sitting or kneeling, I wont be getting back up any time soon.

I agree,  I could make it up from prone or kneeling, but sitting, no way I am getting folded up in that position, Kneeling would be bad enough.  Honestly all of them would not be easy,  prone I could probably roll over sit up, and get up ok, especially if I had something to hold onto for some added support.

I've heard that a new position shooting league is starting for mature gentlemen.   The positions will be: wheelchair, walker and stretcher.

When I shoot the forced kneeling postion during FT matches, if I do not get a muscle cramp I figure it was a hit.  Maybe I should shoot all the forces positions standing?
