i have a open tin of pellets that i leave outside in the elements for about a year,i dont cover it ....just grab and shoot.
i have plenty new tins...but i like that old one.doesnt make any sense.

Ouch.  I wouldn't do that if I were you.  You have two main problems, that I see -- Shooting CPHP's, and shooting pellets that have been outside in the elements for a year uncovered.
