new to me Talon ss
«

I just opened and test fired my Talon ss
I like everything about it except the noise level.
I am spoiled by my Prod with Jim gaska extension.
How do I tone it down saw some info about vented bushings.
Just wondering what y'all have had success with.
Thanks Dave

according to pyramyd, the Talon SS is rated a 2 on the noise level. That's too loud for you?

Personally I think the SS is a pretty quiet rifle, but if you feel you need it to be even more neighborhood friendly just go to YouTube and do a search.... you'll find more than a few video concerning the topic..

Personally when I shot one, I thought it was pretty loud for a shrouded gun. But the sound is not the same as most air rifles to me it was
More metallic sounding and from afar I wouldn't think someone was shooting

Many Talon SS owners install a small shroud which helps quiet the gun down a lot. You have several choices ranging from $60 to $180. Most SS shrouds range from 4" to 6". Usually 2" of that is inside the frame. I think they look really good with a short shroud.
To me it looks like something is missing the way the SS is at the front which is basically a longer frame with the barrel recessed further back, so the gun kind of ends "abruptly". A narrower shroud that goes inside the frame (over the barrel) and extends a couple of inches beyond the frame, and you have a better looking Talon IMO, not to mention a nearly "silent" one except for the valve ping which is much lower than a Condor's
