AEA Terminator 30

Just purchased a Terminator 30 off a private seller.  Does anyone know what the max weight pellet would fit.  I have some FX Hybrids coming but more interested in NSA or Zan.  Should have it in week or so.

 Up to a 60 gr. slug or pellet though the pellet may be slightly too long as in mine.

Mine fits the 68gr noe BT I think its called. They work. However...the magazine rotational speed is almost to slow for proper cycling with that weight of slug. The  gun is apparently designed to operate on 48-50ish gr diablo pellets for optimal reliability. The heavier slugs cause magazine breakage from the probe face smacking the  indexing bit before it is in line with the bore. BOOM broken mag....YMMV.

I've tested NSA 47.2, 50, 55, and 60 grain as well as 68 grain Bob's Boat Tails.

The 55 and 60 grain NSA have the best accuracy (at full power), with maybe a slight edge to the 60 grain. Very accurate ammo in this gun.

However the 60 grains will fail to cycle about once per magazine. It's simple enough to push the bolt forward, it doesn't cause a jam or anything. So these are "doable".

But the 55 grain cycle perfectly and are very close to the 60s in accuracy, so I consider those the best ammo in this gun at least until I find something better.

BTW my Terminator 30 shoots NSA 55/60 way more accurately than pellets. I see no reason to use pellets in this particular gun -- and if you were, you'd probably want to turn down the power a bit to achieve better accuracy. I have not yet messed with the power adjuster on mine.

The 68 grain boat tails were shooting all over the place, no accuracy. Also as Cyknife above said that type of ammo isn't a great idea. You want something with a cup base for better reliability.

I have some FX Hybrids and I just ordered some Zan 49.5 and 54 gr slugs.  That should give me a start.  I have a 25 cal AEA Backpacker I purchased last December.  I soon found out slugs shoot very well out of these guns.  My 25 shoots the lighter slugs better.  Anything over 30 grain open up. 

This rifle comes with both stocks.  The seller purchased new and has 20 rounds through it.  He's a member of Airgun Nation.  I am anxious to see how loud it is.  Owner said it is heavy and has a leak.  How do you guys like yours?  I wanted a 30 when I purchased the 25 but I had a concern on velocity in a 30.  So now I am hoping this rifle will suit my 30 cal hunger.  Never shot a 30 before.  Can't wait!

I noticed this as well. As far as noise I imagine you will find its equivalent to your backpacker. Mostly mechanical from the action.

 Am waiting for the noe 59gr bz5 mold; hoping for more accuracy.

 Just a heads up this pellet will not cycle properly in the mag as it is a smidge too long, but is very accurate when single loaded. I had no clue LG Outdoors sold NOE molds.

Ordered some NSA slugs in 30.  A bag of 47.2, 49.5, and 54.5.  Rifle is due here on Friday.  Has anyone tried Polymags in their rifle.  In my Backpacker it is the most accurate projectile  I have shot.  Cannot get them to cycle consistently.  Does the Terminator have metal or plastic mags? 

Bought this rifle to give me some range for night hunting.  Planning on buying a 2-16 Mini Wraith for the Night hunting.  Thinking there is to transfer from my 30 cal to my AR 15 for coyote hunting depending on ranges.

Has anyone customized their rifle.  I'm thinking I may purchase the 700 cc carbon fiber bottle and sell the stock reservoir and the front bottle.  Will see after getting and shooting some.  If I can get a 50 or 55 grain slug to shoot, what range do you guys feel is max for this rifle?

They are metal magazines with a polymer/clear front face.

I'm also thinking of going 700cc CF bottle upgrade. Maybe the 580cc would look better and still be a nice upgrade. I have the rear bottle now, which I'll probably keep just to have ridiculous air capacity if/when I take it to a proper range.

With the 55 grain NSAs I've been getting excellent groups at 50 yards and very satisfactory results at 75 yards. I have it hitting just slightly high at 50 and just slightly low at 75. Definitely a flatter trajectory with the NSAs ripping along in the high 900s than with pellets. It hits where I aim it and was very easy to sight in with an Athlon Neos II 6-18x. I also have a reflex red dot at 45 degree angle on there which I still need to get sighted in.

I've only had this gun for a couple months, and half of that has involved some down time for health reasons and compressor maintenance, so I'm looking forward to more testing. I did get a fail-to-cycle with the 55 grain NSAs yesterday (no jam, just needed to manually advance it) so I'm going to see if I can get as good accuracy with 50 grainers later.

This is my gun to grab if something goes bump in the night, so being able to fire off all 11 shots fast if needed is kind of the point.

Anyway, I've only stretched it to 75 yards so far but this is easily a 100 yard gun and shoots almost as accurately as my Guantlet 30 at 75yrd.

Shot NSA 49.5 grains today at 40, 50 and 75 yards. No change in point of impact vs 54.5 and 61.5 grain, dead on. I guess testing these earlier I wasn't that used to the gun & trigger. These shoot great. No issues cycling. I'll stick with the 49.5 grain for now.

Josh do you know what velocity you are getting out of the 49.5,s?  How many shots do you get with both bottles?  How many shots with just the front?  I would like to get a couple mags out of the front bottle.

I'll chrony it next time I shoot it. My guess is close to 1000 fps, give or take.

I get exactly 2 mags (22 shots) on the front bottle, staying in the "green". The back bottle doubles the capacity.

Well received my rifle yesterday.  Set it up to day and shot it some.  Without the rear bottle IMO you have about one mag (11) rounds at full power.  No bell curve on this gun it goes downhill after first couple shots.  Shooting FX 44 gr Hybrids over 22 rounds the average velocity is 945 with a SD of 42f/s.  First shot was 1002fps last shot was 877fps.  Gun handles well but is bigger than my Backpacker.  Only shot it briefly for accuracy and that was after two mags shot across the chrony.  Accuracy looks to have potential.  Group was shot at 40 yds.

Overall very happy with the rifle.  I'm sure it is going to serve the purpose of hunting midsize game.  Trigger needs some work yet and I have to decide what size bottle for the front.  I may go for a 700.  For now going to shoot it some and test the different slugs I have.  Work, work, work.
