Fedex or UPS

Last week I recieved my FWB 124, shipped by UPS from Portland OR to Eugene (105 miles).
Result:
Cracked stock   



USPS for me from now on..

Dont even get me started about Fedex....dual tire tracks accross a squashed guitar box...delivered, dumped and ran....he  forgot to knock, or wait for signiture. 
1966 Martin D-18,  if you know what that is, you will appreciate the loss.

That's outrageous. I would have gone to the branch every day to complain.

I smartened up a while ago. No D-18 Martins but Have had some nasty deliveries. I installed a video camera system for security along with perimeter alarms. Have a large HD dvr so if something goes wrong I have it on video. When I got my blizzard with the broken stock it didn't happen at my driveway. Some of these drivers are OK they are given items where the damage has already been done and are told to deliver it. Some are aware some aren't. I'm waiting to catch the guy on video dropping my package.

Today I received Summit stock from Crosman via UPS. Damage to the stock itself is not gross enough to be seen but check out the damage to the box. Can't blame this on UPS. Crosman bears full credit for this as the stock was in that one flimsy blister bag, a big wad of brown paper at the foregrip end of the box, nothing at the butt end, and no packing whatsoever of any kind to take up the space along the length of the stock. Disgusting. Someone who packages shipments either just takes no pride in their work and/or has no common sense. You can't blame UPS or FedEx when people do not pack intelligently.

In my area I perfer FED-X. They Del. Saturdays and have never received anything damaged. Most of the things shipped by UPS go right by me to Little Rock and back to Memphis. That makes allot of since. Lets just see how many times we can load and unload it. More chances of damage and later shipment receiving.
On the other hand I have freinds that work UPS and that is a plus. Ups drivers will call you and meet you for you to arrange a pickup. Their dispatchers will alert them. Fed-x claim they can't or just will not. So it is a TOSS UP on just how fast and bad you need it.
