So who was the original gun? Was it the D24 that was copied?
What about B12 variants? An XS-12 with T05 trigger aka Diana 240? Better yet, a B12 with a Rekord trigger (clone).
Educate me on the gun please.

Intersting. Are they all the same gun?
If so is the D24 any better than Chinese gun?
Is the D24 more expensive than the rest.

Diana Two-Forty and Diana 24 are completely different guns, so which are we talking about?
Two-Fortys are Chinese guns made after Diana was bought out, or these past coupla years.
D24's are German guns, basically scaled-down D34's, made c. 20 -30 years ago, rock solid and accurate, with excellent triggers (on the variants with adjustable triggers).

I know the D24 and D240 are different guns of German origin (Diana) and my understanding is the D240 evolved from the D24 after Diana stopped D24 production. The similarities between the two guns are obvious. Attached is a D24 vs D240 comparison
Sometime in the past the company Xisico (BAM) began producing the XS-12 (aka BAM B12)... essentially a D240 clone. Stoeger had their version of the copy known as the X5. There are probably other clones out that I am unaware of.
Eventually Diana produced their own Chicom version of the D240 and it is called the Diana
two forty
.
I don't know if Diana still produces a D240 (made in Germany) or if it has been wholly supplanted by the Chicom
two forty
. I do know the D24 is no longer in production.
That,
I think
, is the history. To recap: the German D24 evolved over time with different improvements, different triggers, etc. Eventually German D24 production stopped and German D240 production began.
In true Chicom fashion, it wasn't long before Asian D240 copies began appearing in the US market. I think the BAM/Xisico clones had direct sear triggers however, there are also D240 copies in the public with clone Rekord triggers and also with clone T05 triggers. I don't know if the trigger improved Chicom guns were production models or custom jobs.
So am I on track here or off base?

the D24 is essentially the 240 classic, which is all german made. the twoforty is a chinese b12 (xs12), which if i understand correctly, is a copy or a close copy from the cometa 100. straight sear on all the chinese based guns and the cometa. The stoeger x5 (and now 3000c) is just a rebranded xs12. The b12 that have a B26 trigger were modified after the fact (i have one now) and had a second one about 5 years ago... Great little gun but the trigger unit hangs out of the back (reason i sold the first one) but then i remember how better it shot, so i found a second one (still hangs, but i can ignore it because it shoots so well).

That clears things up for me. Thanks for the info. It's interesting how similiar the D240 Classic &
two forty
appear in the file photos I posted earlier. They could be twins
