Memory? Old age can have pleasant surprises!

I have been talking to a few members on here concerning the best mount to use with a certain springer and scope (that rifle and scope will be revealed in a later post). Two of these members who I highly respect suggested the same mount to use with this rifle/scope combination. The mount they suggested was the Sportsmatch T04C. I have used these mounts on two other rifles so I am aware of their quality but PA is out of stock at the moment and AoA has them but they are more expensive and their freight charges are outrageous.  As the title of this posts suggests, in my old age I had forgotten that I had an unopened T04C. This morning, I happened upon a new set. Fading Memory? Old age can have pleasant surprises!

It would've been a unpleasant surprise if you had bought some only to discover you had some already.🫣😂 At least for me it would've.

I can relate to the old age, but in my case I would probably find them AFTER I ordered at least one or maybe two sets.

Funny you mentioned it. I now remember why I have that extra set. I had ordered a set from PA years back and it was on back order. I guess I didn't realize that when it became available they would ship it to me automatically.  I get an email from them that it's back in stock.  I guess I didn't see in their email that they were sending them so of course I ordered one, then when two arrived I discovered my blunder.

 I just forgot that I had an extra one on hand. I normally keep all the extra mounts, rings, screws, and stop pins together in a plastic tub with a lid. For some reason I put that package in the tub with my extra scopes.

Did you happen to find the receipt with it? Be interesting to see if they're the same $$ as now.

I just did exactly that! The D3 comes with a picatinny rail so the 11mm rings gotta go so I ordered 2 pairs of picatinny scope mounts then looked in my AR drawer and found 6 sets, 2 still in the package.

No I couldn't find the receipt. I tried to look at my past orders at PA but it only went back a couple of years.  I think I may have used a previous email and a different account at PA before then and I couldn't get to that account.  It would nice to see how much they've gone up.
