Disco trigger problems

Order a new frame/housing, sear and spring from Crosman.

Yep  A guy on the forum is sending a new spring and sear.  I may have overdone it one the trigger spring tension. LOL I'll bet the trigger pull is in the 20lb + range.  The thing cocks though but I can only get mid 700fps.  If I try to go higher she won't cock.  She slips off the sear.

At least it does appear to be the culprit though. I figured an 1/8" and then the spring back would've left it where you need it. Kind of like stretching any metal apart, gotta go a bit further than where you want it and then it fatigues back a bit. I've never seen one of these spring ever really wear out, you must've put alot of pellets thru your rifle lol.

LMBO, im just picturing this spring has a 45° angle at the sear now lol. Hopefully you get it sorted!

Not quite that bad. LOL...  i did over do it though. Obviously    Dont mind playing with is sing a stock spring is on the way..Agin another  learning exp.

Hey almost forgot to ask.  What kind of velocities are you guys shooting the 14.3 crosmans?  The other day I was in the mid to upper 800's. After working the spring I cant get more than mid 700's.  Im only getting about 15 maybe 20 shots as its set now.

If the sear is dragging on the hammer, your velocity will be low.

On a stock disco tuned for 2000 psi it'll do close to mid 800s with 14.3s
It's probably dragging the hammer on the sear now because too much tension. It really is easy to over bend them. I honestly can't think of anything else it could be if the hammer, trigger group, and springs are all stock. If you have too long of a hammer spring it could cause it, especially with a power adjuster. Usually they just won't lock up after you reach coil bind.
The only thing you changed wad the spring tension so I would think its dragging the sear now. Did you bend the spring from its fulcrum point? Like the whole length from the coil, just bend that entire arm up a few degrees? Or did you actually put a bend in the end of the spring? I probably should have explained that better the first time around lol

Ha  funny enough I never gave that a thought. I'm sure that is the case though.  The trigger spring is way to heavy.  Maybe proved the point that it was a bit weak but I way over did it.  Thanks good point

Well I didn't go to nuts but apparently I went to far. LOL.  I'll bend it back a bit.  I think now it's a balancing game.  I think you were right it was all in the spring tension.  I just went a bit to far.  I know I'm surprised.  LOL  Yup before I bent the spring I was in the mid 800's also so it seems the rifle is shooting about right.  I'll get er back in shape.

Been playing with the spring this morning.  I can get it to work great for about 20 shots or so then it does the same thing and won't cock.  I think the spring is shot.  I think I can get the tension right but with just a few shots the spring looses the tension and goes back to not cocking.  I'm just going to wait for the new spring and sear to come in and change out the parts.  They were mailed today.  Should be here by Friday. Still cant get the velocity to go over mid 700's.

Ok got the new parts in today. New sear and spring.  Nope that's not it.  Seems to work with the old and new parts till get to about 750 fps using the 14.3's.  Ok what could next?  Could the hammer be worn to the point where the sear cant hold it back?  I cant think of anything else.  But then again Idono.  Anyone ever hear of a hammer warning like that?

Anyone know where I can even get a hammer?  I dont see it listed on the parts list.

Alchemy Airwerks on ebay has nice polished and deburred ones with a hammer pin for like 12 bucks or something. David does quality work. You could order from crosman but the last 2x I ordered a hammer for the 22xx/disco guns they sent the wrong part. The part number changed I think and there is some confusion.

He has custom and OEM.

I use his valve torx screws and hammer springs as well, particularly his .038” springs.

I find the .042 and .045 too hard for my low power builds.

Just talked to Mr. Grimes (Alchemy Airwerks).. Real nice guy.  Anyway he thinks its the hammer spring.  He said he doesn't believe its the sear hammers spring or the hammer.  Anyway he gave me some ideas and will be sending a couple of parts and we will see.
Funny thing, I really didn't want to get to far down a rabbit hole with this thing.  I just wanted to get it back to where it was and use it as a short range plinker.  Didn't want to put that much time in it but you know how that goes.  We will see.  The saga continues.

Does he do repair work or mostly sells parts ?  Never got to ask.
