No Accuracy Difference 22 Crosman Domed, HP, Piranha, 500FPS Rifle?

Has anyone seen any measurable difference between the Crosman 22 Domed, Hollow Point or Piranha pellets?

I'm shooting  Weihrauch HW30 which shoots in the 500 fps range.

All of them shoot about the same in my guns. I shoot what ever is cheaper or in stock at the time.

I find the 10.5 CP, 10.6 CM and the 10.5 Piranha to shoot the same out of my Flashpup.  In fact they shoot on par with Hades only the Hades take more barrel fouling to start grouping.  These were what I was testing today.

I'm still working the kinks out of the Hatsan.  It's the first cheap PCP I have purchased and so it has its quirks that my others don't seem to have.  Fortunately and unfortunately it does seem to like the more affordable Crosman pellets.  However, I just received some Hades and I bought 4 tins so I could get the PA buy 3 get one free discount.  Those expensive pellets just do not fly any better than the Crosman.  I may be on a quest for a more accurate .177 if there is such a thing.  When it comes to plinking back yard accuracy its hard to beat my 2250 or my P-rod, they both seem to hit the mark each time.

There are a LOT of accurate .177 guns out there but you will pay for them in a lot of cases. My gauntlet piled up .177's in a bunch but couldn't load off a magazine. My DAR cant shoot a good group with a .177 at any price but the .22 and .25 versions are friggin lasers!

The Stormrider mags are the same, yes. I prefer the CARM magazines. Much easier to load, smoother, and can leave the first chamber empty.

I also have a Bandit in Chaser rifle clothing that I do enjoy. In .177 form it was very accurate, but I think I got lucky on the barrel lottery. I swapped it over to .22, but haven't had much time or good weather to see how accurate it is. Mostly I swapped to .22 so I could make my own ammo. I do think about getting some more .177 pellets because my short .22 barrel is not threaded on the end and this thing is loud with the short barrel and no moderator.

Some barrels are more sensitive to pellet head size than others, and that apparently also has to do with the material of pellets. I found that my Leshiy 1 .177 shot HN FTT Green pellet like a sequential shotgun out of the tin. However, after sizing to 4.46mm (head size, as measured by a micrometer), a single hole if I do my part. The same gun/barrel shoots regular (lead) HN FTT pellets poorly regardless of head size.

For people with the time and curiosity, tins of pellets, a $25 micrometer and a $40 adjustable pellet sizer (T.R. Rob) can unearth a lot of interesting mysteries!

Thank you for the information.  I cast lots of bullets and do a lot of sizing but I didn't realize there is a pellet sizer on the market.  Having the ability to make pellets perform optimally, no matter their cost would be a good thing.

Depending on if you just want to size the head or both the head and tail, a simple 7/8 X 14tpi threaded rod section drilled out and honed to your ID is a simple and cheap alternative.

When LEE was running the custom sizer shop, I would make a sizer that way and test the shots then send the data off to LEE for a hardened sizer.

I am sure one of the many people here could whip up one for you in short order, just post a WTB in the classifieds if interested.
