BSA Light pattern #373 1919 IMD

1919 Light pattern assembled from leftover prewar Improved Model D parts. Only a few hundred exist. Has post Great War two hole trigger block, trigger guard, and taller sights. Never seen a nicer one anywhere. Lucky find on eBag. I acted fast. Seller negotiated a fair price after I messaged and mentioned I could return it to service. That was pleasing to him. Here it is.
First pic shows how I got it. Missing cocking link and screws. I probably made a new leather seal. Original spring is fine. All other Improved Model D are assembled by 1917

1912 Improved Model D Sporting Pattern (45 inch .22).  I acquired several years ago without all it's parts. Took a while to track downparts. The spring is from an Airsporter. Works good but it originally had twin springs (missing) Will do a post about it soon.

This one needs some parts. Can't do much with it yet. 1906 "BSA Air Rifle". 43 1/2 inch .177  #4616 Second batch. Got it last spring. Just have to keep looking for parts and be patient.

AWSOME! I found the parts! That trigger guard(small pin) was only made 1906-7. Only took 8 months to find.......
I'll make the mounting screws. Here's a set I made and a trigger adjustment screw for another gun. A bit of a beater but it shoots!

Don’t have to be a machinist to collect old airguns  but it helps!  Think that’s why I look for examples that are in great shape. All I can do well is oil!

I got parts for it today! From UK. Took 9 months to find and receive. This will be a nice one. I'll have to make trigger and guard screws in my shop. No sweat.

You obviously have too many BSA's. I think you should share one with me..

OK. What I meant is, Thank You for sharing them with all of us. I, too, would love to find one. I don't know if I could fix them like you do without a lot of help and guidance though.

They're not hard to work on but many of the parts are very hard to come by. Here in the states it's nearly impossible to find any at all. Screws for them are BSA proprietary threads. Nothing else fits. I can duplicate them and make most screws. I haven't attempted to make a tap to thread holes yet. Haven't had to.  I make and fit my own leather seals.

Seal, brass washer, and screw made for an Improved Model D on the end of the piston.
