I’ve recently acquired this lovely .25 cal MK2. After years of looking at them, even had a wanted listing up for a while a few years ago. This one came up for sale almost locally. I jumped on the deal. It’s a late model MK2 one of the last that came out of the UK. I’ve already gone through the rifle and made a few minor changes to the workings. The twin hammer spring set up was changed out as I found there to be way too much preload using soft springs , major cause of hammer bounce. Now using twin short stiff springs with zero preload and a hair of free flight. Removed the inertia set up as it’s just not required with this spring arrangement and has been replaced with a brass hammer weight to help with opening the valve up. This is an unregulated rifle and with the current set up am getting 6 magazines with just under 30fps extreme spread with a 180 bar fill down to 130 bar. I do have a couple other things to get done on this rifle, a peek hammer PIP will be added as well as a 580cc carbon fibre bottle. I’d also like to shorten the barrel or find a shorter replacement that ends closer to the same length as the bottle.

Currently still waiting for parts for this rifle. I placed an order from RAW for the V block quick fill and gauge, a 580 cc bottle , received a 500mm LW barrel that I’ll be fitting. While I’m waiting I’ve been working on a balanced valve as per the HM1000x mods Mbhaur did a while back. It’s still a work in progress as there isn’t a whole lot of room behind the valve where the return spring is unlike the HM block that has an extra inch of material. Also fabricating a new lightweight hammer. This I’ll be making from 7075 aluminum. As you can see in the pic I didn’t go with a complete new valve stem, I’ve turned a short top hat with a slip fit over the existing valve. That will extend the valve to open air, reducing the opening force.

My winter project is near completion. It’s gone through a bit of a transformation. Here’s the list of mods and changes. None of which are my designs , mostly borrowed from members from various forums. Thanks gents , you know who you are.
-cleaned , steamed out dents then oiled up the stock
-Install missing rear sling stud and added a front stud
-fabricated cheek riser and wrapped to match
-fill port cover ( aluminium sleeve and Delrin)
-580cc best fittings bottle ( wrapped in CF vinyl)
-aluminium 30gr. Hammer with adjustable PIP and peek tip
-SSG with multi springs ( mild 30 fpe to wild 65fpe)
-17” LW barrel hand lapped , with a two port set up one at .2” the other at .150” , oring sealed . Clock barrel 90 degrees to change .
-force reduction valve stem and end cap to match . Got the idea from Mubhaur. Only one additional Oring
-picatinny rail added from m lock section
-custom roller bolt with oversized knob
-all ports matched from valve to match the block at .2”
I’m still waiting for a RAW V block and will have to modify the stock to fit. I currently have it tuned to peak at 40 FPE with a 20 fps spread over 4 magazines. That’s not terribly impressive but that’s from a 150bar fill shooting down to 100 bar. Basically 1 bar per shot. Very pleased with how it turned out. Classic rifle with a bit of a modern twist
