stoeger x20 experience part 2

o my new x20 arrived from stoeger friday.
first things first. out of the box i notice right away that the blueing is much better, not so blotchy.
also , there is no blobs of glue or whatever it was coming out from under the muzzle brake.
oh i forgot to mention before that the dials on the scope both said UP. now one says up , one says left. that made it a little easier to sight it in.
it still kinda noisy, and the trigger is still a dog but i can always fix that(hopefully). i havent taken the scope off to check the sights yet . it smokes a little. i cleaned the barrel, (it was dirty) but most importantly. IT SHOOTS WHERE I AIM IT
i spent the afternoon stooting with it. about 40 shots i'd say.
oh yeah, the forearm of the stock. the parts that hide the barrel hinge are very sharp. cut my thumb on it on the first shot so i'll fix that easy enough.
overall. a big difference between this one and the first one i got.i does need a tune. but i can work with this.
spoke too soon, took the scope off and the sights so far off that they are worthless. after taking a closer look the rear sight is canted to the right quite a bit, i'm going to try to shim it or bend it.
you see my point of part 1? i shouldnt have to do this.

Tune it, replace trigger with GRT111, replace breach barrel to receiver bushings from plastic to brass and fill the stock with either expanding window foam or old rags.
Then put the scope back on it will be a tack driver.
These are relatively cheap guns sure they can be made nice...but money wise they are cheap considering that some target air rifles can cost as much as $5000.00. You get what you pay for...gotta expect that with low cost airguns.

Steve , their the shims that go between the barrel block and the forks that the barrel block rides in! I think Gene makes them and you can go to his site and he may have them pictured ? not sure? but anyway the shims are for spacing and give bearing surface to keep the 2 parts from rubbing
