I couldn’t watch all the video but I think you’ve got this figured out!  Nice narrative.  Now that I have an Instapot I like to pressure cook the breast for about fifteen minutes.  Then I can bread and fry them if I’m inclined or more often bake them in a Pyrex oven pan with lots of herbs and cream of celery soup for a stock.

One thing I'm curious about, is there not enough meat to harvest on the rest of the bird? (I'm more of a thigh man myself  )

Anyone try to season with just Adobo and slow cook?

I tried to do thighs, but really, it's too tedious and very little meat — nothing like a chicken thigh....

Great video and technique.  Been doing it that way for over 50 years.  Quail you can do the whole bird.  Dove don't have enough meat on the legs or thighs to be worth while.

for 50 (fifty) years you've been cooking pigeons like this?! 
(I feel like I should bow or somehow else show my respect....) 

I'm by no means "young" — despite infrequent occurences where a Peruvian shop assistant calls me "joven" ("young man") — that being clearly a case of exaggerated flattery to gain my business. 


But this has only been MY THIRD ATTEMPT at cooking pigeons!!     In all those years....!  🤦🏻‍♂️ 


If I was a Brit, I would have to call myself a "bloody beginner" (still sitting in a pool of that red liquid).
But since I'm German, a "blutiger Anfänger" will have to do.


🔸Wow, so much to learn still.
So many pellets/slugs to try.
So many different types of quarry to kill.
So many guns to buy.

Seems like there'll never be enough time on earth (or money in the piggy bank labeled GUN FUND).

Matthias, sorry no we either fry them breaded with flour, salt, and pepper.  Or we cook them in a pot of rice.

I meant that we had been "breasting" the doves like in the video. 

Wish I had somewhere to shoot some pigeons or dove on a pesting permission.

Sounds good, I've seen some of the video's in Central or South America of the Dove hunts.  Looks like the come in by the thousands.

I'm sorry to say that must be in other countries, like Argentina.... Peru not so much. 

Then again, what do I know, I'm pretty new at this, and I haven't traveled the country to hunt elsewhere, who knows what I might run into...? 😄
