Man that rotors thing  is a lost art.Go to the store now and they just want to sell u some &^^&.You know the lingo , can't turn the rotor. It's good we can still use the lathe for something,EH? Good thing we got into air rifles.

Yeah, its an NTSB thing, some people were turning rotors down to the vanes causing accidents. A competent mechanic can take 0.002" off a rotor and make it flat if the shoe backing hasn't made contact with the disk. On one of my vehicles, its 8mm minimum. On that one its because of the caliper piston length... ask me why I know that one....

My gen 2 is regged would very much like it to not be.

Nothing is instantaneous.

Regulated air sitting in the valve and plenum...and you shoot.

Pellet is moving  down the barrel as the valve and plenum air is used.

Pressure drops from the air expelled, regulator activated.

Little spring loaded piston in the reg moves, wants to inject the air that got used.

Regulator ports/passageways aren’t all that large….air gets replaced after the shot is already on it’s way. Anything it could add to the party is too late to really help push the pellet.

Regulators catch up real fast...fast enough for semi-auto or even full auto...but not fast enough to help the individual shot.

Which is why plenum size is important.  More “on deck” air, ready to be used for the shot….not waiting around for the relief pitcher.

I can’t help but be intrigued even though I have a super difficult time with the flat out strangeness of this company. Not sure I will ever be able to buy one but I’d really like to try one. Does anyone know if these are tunable at all? Do they even have HS adjustment?

You can tune the reg and you can adjust the hammer spring.

The reg is internal though right? So I’m assuming you have to tear into the gun a bit to get to it?  Is there room to move it up from where it is set from the factory?

I had 2 of the first edition dar rifles I setup for customer one shot a string like regulated in .22 but the .25 or .177 def shot like it was regulated based of chrono chart.  He sent it back and got replacement

Yes the regulator is internal and has an adjustable seat to change the setpoint.  Loosen the jam nut and back off the brass thumbscrew to increase the setpoint.

I personally dont see them as strange at all. The credit card company simply will not process "gun" transaction online and while they search to find a vendor that does, they use this as a work around. Some years ago, this was the ONLY way you could do a credit card sale, period. We are just used to the  current way online purchasing works.

Strange in that :

1).  No valid working phone number on their website.

2). Their guns are regulated which is a pretty big deal at this price point yet it’s nearly a GD mystery. Not even mentioned in the descriptions on that wonderful website.

3). Payment thing. Never have I heard of such a thing nor done it even with powder burners I have bought online. So it’s pretty "dang" weird.

They need to hire someone that has a clue how to best represent their company and product to the public.

Have any of you 25 cal owners tinkered with yours?  Would it be possible to get it to throw a 30 gr projectile 850 FPS?

Trucker, that's pretty close to where mine was set from the factory.  30gr at 850fps is 48fpe.  Mine is running at 45fpe so we're talking within 6%.  The regulator is set at something like 1600 or 1700psi so there's room to crank it up if you're looking for 50 plus.

Oh good deal. Not a lot of reviews on the gun. The one I did see was only pushing 25 gr kings that fast and those pellets are a phantom anymore.   So the end of the air tube would have to taken off and a long screw driver to get to the reg?

Not too strange.... ever order parts from Crosman? You call them, give them the parts list and your CC number and ship to address. In this case, you place the order and they call you for the rest of the deal. Only difference is.... I never got a tracking number on Crosman parts...

I have one of my .25 set up for 46gr RN, only 2 mags on that tune but I do hit 850 FPS or a little higher (862). About 74 fpe.

I get 950 on my other DAR .25 with Kings. I also dont think they are unobtanium, just scarce. I got two tins off of eBay two weeks ago for $18.99 each, I just checked and they still have them for that. My first tin is a little over half gone but they are SO accurate in my DAR! They pile up at 50y all day long.

Nope, you take the stock off (1 screw), remove the stock mounting nut and the grub screw right in front of it, remove the barrel band and pull it out of the receiver. Crack open the small grub just in front of the last screw until some air starts escaping and let it empty, you can push on the poppet rod to ensure that the tube is empty. Then unscrew both caps, use a dowel from the muzzle end to push the plenum and regulator out.

Reassembly is just the opposite but take caution! It's easy to turn the regulator around and when you fill the tube with air, the reg comes apart inside the air tube! 

If I remember correctly, mine was set for 1200 psi, I turned it out until I was at max and re assembled, filled it and shot it all within about 15 minutes. When tuning it, I could take it down, turn the regulator screw 1/8 turn and reassemble, fill and shoot in 5 minutes.

I probably over do the silicone grease but I have never cut an o ring so I'm OK with that.
