Hello everyone. To start off I like to do four things. Kayaking my first priority, I have four of them only because I always bump into people interested in the sport and they don't have the equipment. I am always willing to take them out for an adventure. Number two, hunting small game with an air rifle. My model is Diana 34 she's kind of old now and made in Germany, she's put more food on my table than any other gun I own, (now retired). Third hobby Trapping, coons and muskrats taste all right, and I get some money to boot. And fourth, telling stories. Which leads me to this one if anyone be interested.
I read several reviews about this air rifle, Benjamin Titan gp and watched a few video’s on YouTube, went to Wal-Mart picked it up, went to Dick's sporting goods and got the 3-9x32mm Center Point scope AR22 series which is now firmly attached. Imagine my surprise when I further inspected it and found lighted mil dot reticle. I want to see if CharlieDaTuna can make a trigger for this model (BW8M22NP) also. This Benjamin is replacing my Diana 34 that has served me faithfully all these years and is extremely tired out. I'm hoping this is a good move.
Shot placement is top priority in my book and every once in awhile (probably me) I would have to chase down my next meal, very unfortunate for the both of us. I usually skin them out while I wait for another wood rat to venture near. On this particular day a "timber wolf, which PA swears they didn't introduce" circled me several times testing the air this went on for a good ten minutes or so, (I almost had my limit of skinned squirrels for the day.) I didn't know what to do so I did the next best thing, "I stood up and yelled Eeeyaaa Get outta here!!! And all the while I was violently waving my arms and shaking that rifle for effect. I swear that wolf grew 10 times its size right before my eyes, the moment I stood up! Every hair on its body stood on end, and it growled so fiercely I broke out with goose bumps and everything else imaginable. This monster was not afraid of me, it came to within 15 yards circling around me, and I let Diana rip one of her .177 Bulldogs clean through that beast’s chest. I spent the next untold minutes thanking God for giving me good aim and a good heart because it was right up there in my throat every second of that encounter. My friend "Seneca Mike" who was hunting with me that day finally shows up and says, "Yikes you took this wolf with that toy?!" Are you crazy?! I said Mike it was either that, or use the Diana as a club man; you don't know the half of it. But I'll tell the story at our next sweat. He says, “Can I have the hide?” I wish to never encounter anything like that again in my life, and if I do I hope this Benjamin is just as dependable. Thanks for the warm welcome, and I hope to make some new friends here.

Welcome, Gary. WOW, what a story to begin with. The only thing that would have made it any better would have been a picture for everyone to see. You mentioned that the Diana 34 is old and tired. That can be remedied my friend with a new spring, a few more small parts and some encouragement from the guys on this forum. Many of them have taken 34's and done some really neat things with them. Take a few moments and do a search and I bet you will find more about your gun than you ever expected.
Ask a few questions and it won't take long for someone to be happy to give you some pointers, as well.
Also, we are very interested in your hunting exploits with an airgun. Please take some pics, post them and tell us your stories. I guarantee we will read them!
Again, welcome to the family we all call GTA.

"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks."
