I’ve got a couple of these Stanley tool tote boxes that I’ve had for a couple decades. The big 50 gallon one and the smaller companion. I don’t really use them anymore, so a few years ago I made plywood tops attached to 2”x4”s and wrapped the tops in felt. The big one is mine and the little one is for my little shooting partner.

Indoor/outdoor carpeting or marine deck carpet would do the trick and the tote would also work very nicely for transporting a compressor. (new compact pickup is likely in the cards this year and there's 110 outlets, yeah!)
