Foster Quick Connect Fittings. Are there any quality offerings?

I have a cheap $50 Chinese eBay floor pump that I use for my Marauder.  Works fine, but the Foster Quick Coupling seems a little sloppy, and will not make a seal sometimes if the hose has sideways tension on it.  I put new size 10 O-rings inside, but did not help much.  Doesn't really bother me, but I went to connect to a friends DAR with a fill probe that has a Foster fitting and I could not make a seal, so I could not pump-up with my pump.  Is there a source for quality connectors?  Or are they all suspect?  And I am assuming that even though the Foster fitting is a size standard, not every brand is inter-changeable?   And it's hit & miss when components work together?  Just like air compressor fittings?  Some combinations just won't seal?

It is a major pain in the beehind. I have a few bags of foster fittings. Some fit to some, others won't fit some. Some tight, some loose. It's a cwap shoot for sure. Metric/standard/british, way too many different sizes no-a-days. Good luck

Just going to mention this...it’s kind of relevant, but more so for guy’s have used the same fittings for a long long time.

You can wear a nipple or a QD out if you try.

Are basically ball bearing locks in the QD...so it’s  point contacts on the nipple.    They are going to want to deform to a larger areas than “point”.

Then I thought about it...that whole “equal and opposite” thing…..so likely whatever  I can photo happening on the nipple, is also happening on the inside of the QD fitting (I just can’t get in there to photo it).  You may not dent up a hard fill nipple, but may well dent up the inside of the QD.

Given enough use,  one or the other (or both) will stop fitting as well as it once did.

So if what has always been working for years starts to NOT work,  it may just be that there is now a  burr in the way or the ball locks have dented in enough that the QD’s o-ring is not longer compressed and sealing.

The Air Venturi are only OK, I may need to look at the Huma offerings for my needs. Need to swap one rifle to Foster, and need to fix a hose extension.
