I'm saving a bundle casting my own

I remember paying for the Premium brand pellets and for quite some time now I haven't paid for any pellets just the lead to make them.  One of my newest bargain rifles is the Avenger in 25 cal and it just loves
the NOE 25 cal hunters.  I've also been shooting a lot of other guns during squirrel season this year as well and they all get a steady diet of premium cast pellets from my NOE molds.  This morning I chiseled off another hunk
from what's left of the first half split pig ingot and cast up a few hundred of my 26 grainers.  It's funny how being worried about if I can get pellets anymore is a thing of the past



I even sneak in a little plinking when I'm out in the woods I was using pellets cast from NOE 217-24-RF for this group



For hunting purposes the meplat's definitely dump energy good too.

i love my noe molds as well wayne. You got that right about never having to worry about getting/finding more at a shop. just melt some lead and pour away. My new 250-27 mold is way better than my first. My second shortest pin it dropping 28gr and a touch longer. groups have improved greatly since the new mold arrival. Improved so much that I'm now recasting all the previous stock pile i had built up.

I'm really looking forward to when Al decides to make more of the .218 slug molds, these would more than likely be a great candidate for my Liberty.  I missed the first run which has probably been over a year ago now.  Other than that it's been a while since I've bought a new mold.  I have been getting them in brass when available because I prefer the brass over aluminum.  They retain the heat well when casting and  even if I happen to be doing something besides casting during the process it's easy.  When I cast up that few hundred like I did this morning I was also watching 2 episodes of "Wanted Dead or alive".

I only use pure lead when casting any of these small cast slugs and pellets. Here's a five shot group I just did with my Crosman 150 using
my cast wad cutters from my .22 wad cutter mold from NOE.  Just getting ready for some winter time indoor target plinking.



I do need to cast some more of these wad cutters up too because I'm just about out.

 That reminds me , there must still be a couple tins of those ridding around in my truck in a usps box, that I was going to send to Avatar " Bill  then work took away my time to send them.

I did cast up some wad cutters today, weighed and eyeball sorted, I probably cast a few hundred good ones with only 4 rejects  That's actually pretty good for me
because they're kinda tough little buggers to cast, first thing I do after I've heated both the pot with the mold on top of it pins down is pour a few nice puddles on top of the
sprue plate to get it good and warm and they seem to come out pretty good using the pressure pour method.  I'm going to cast up a few hundred more tomorrow too
because it's going to be raining all day tomorrow too.

I'm casting up some 30 grain .217 BBT right now. Biggest problem I'm having is not over heating the mold and it's a alu mold too. I have a few brass molds but have a problem getting them up to temp. Those 30 grainers drop so easy out of that mold. Most times I just open the mold and the slugs drop out on their own. I've got a.25 cal hunter may in ali coming either tomorrow or Friday. I'll polish up the pins and hopefully be able to start casting some of them Sun.

Robert the RG mold in 2 cavity Brass is the one that I have for the 217-30-FN.  I can accurately shoot the slugs with many of my .22's.  They won't fit my Liberty though, way too tight. After typing that first sentence I popped one through my Crosman 150 just for kicks and it was dead on at 5 yards, I even felt a little recoil due to it being such a heavy projectile.  I'm really hooked on shooting them through my Airmax Dominator and Xisico Sentry 705-9. Both guns shoot them fantastic.  The Sentry delivers much more energy than the Dominator and shoots them much flatter.   I've also got one of the first aluminum molds that are a five cavity but flat nose only.  NOE builds the best airgun molds out there in my opinion, especially when it comes to pellets.  I think the best pellets for hunting are the Magnum Hunters in both .25 and .22.  I did cast a bunch of wad cutters up today also for the .22's and it's time I switched molds.  I recently bought some pegwood sticks for my watch tinkering and it really works nice for polishing the cavities up in tiny mold's, I always take a quick eyeball of my mold cavities to make sure any buildup is not evident looking through my Optivisor.  Tomorrow is going to be a woods walk day, it's going to start out at about 37 degrees and I'll just use my Sentry with the BBT's, it's a very predictable shooter and delivers a considerable amount of shots.  I'll be doing one five shot group with it while I'm out there.

I size them down to.215 for my liberty and they shoot just fine. If I remember right the liberty is pushing them at around 870 fps. I also have found that if I spray the as cast slugs with pledge I can size them in one step to the.215 size.

I'll do a measurement of the slug to see. I still see the drive bans after resizing. It may only be a couple of thousands but will measure.

The area between the drive bands is.212 with the drive bands at.215

Wayne, now did you make out with the .015" sizer? My liberty was not happy when sized to
.215 or larger so I had to fabricate a .214" sizer from a NOE .178" sizer die which worked great. I have not yet found time to try the .215's or the .214's in my Avenger.

Bob NOE sent me the USPS tracking but it still shows that it hasn't been picked up yet, it's been a month since I ordered it and I'll give them a call tomorrow to see what's going on with it.

Wayne, Al is so busy he let my order fall through the cracks. That may be what happened to your order. I just gave him a Email and he called me on a Sun. to get my order straightened out.
