Hi folks, I recently bought a tin of the Norma 8.4 grain Golden Trophy pellets from Midway to try in my Diana model 34 and all I can say is WOW, these pellets are as accurate as anything I have ever tried in this rifle and they hit hard too, (I think the claim of double the energy might be somewhat dubious), but they do penetrate better than the H&N Barracudas I've been using. The group I fired with them at my back yard range which is 23 yards measured roughly .450" for five shots using open sights, I was gobsmacked. These pellets are clean and have a very uniform smooth finish and they cost 2 cents a piece. I like them and I encourage folks to try them, I plan on using them for small game hunting. Ok well that's all I have on these for now, I may purchase the 15.8 grain .22 version of these to try in my Diana 350 if I do I'll add my results with those too.
Take care
Wes

I tried the Norma 9.1 FT and the accuracy was good. Speed was pretty fast given the weight. The only downside is the amount of swarf that was in the tin. So accuracy good, cleanliness was not great.

Is there a link to these pellets, I have many lower power .177 break barrels and pumpers that seem to love pellets in the 9 - 10 gr range, willing to give them a go for um science

I think there's a link on the regular air gun gate under a similar post within the last couple days. If you're just trying to find a place that sell them, Midway USA has them.

I have some coming from Midway as well. The .177 dome pellet and the match wadcutter. I will shoot them through my fwb124s, 300s and my hw95. They are my most accurate rifles and will show the potential of the pellets very quickly. I saw the claim about more power with the dome and more penetration with the pointed pellet on Norma's own site. The dome they show by itself in ballistic gel; the pointed pellet alongside another pellet that they refer to as a "hobby" pellet. It looks like a wadcutter, so the energy comparisons are likely being made to a standard wadcutter at X distance. If the Norma pellets are indeed being made by RWS, then the evidence is also in the language used, as RWS does after all make a wadcutter pellet called Hobby . A little info was likely lost in translation or in construction of their graphs.
