Very cool.
I'd love to be able to do this if only I had the range.

For my 55 yard shoot I had to go to my friends ranch....(my range is only 35 yards)...Besides my 1975 Sheridan I also have a 1991 Sheridan much like yours with a Williams sight. Good shooting by the way.

If that is off hand that is good shooting at any range
10 meters impressive,any farther and you are in the wrong line of work

Thanks, this '79 here has always been pretty accurate for me my dad and the cousin he bought it off of in '86.

Those shots were taken at only 10yds sitting and knee rested, but I was pretty happy.
Well at least as happy as I could be considering the circumstances.
I was trying to replicate an absolutely perfect dead center shot I had made earlier that that day, which I foolishly ruined by turning into a 3 shot group.

Maybe next time can do some shooting on my uncles property I'll bring along some of these Quigley targets and try this.

It WAS a movie.
There is no way that rifle could shoot 300 yards held parallel to the ground as seen in the movie.
The bullet allegedly weighed 500 grains.
It would have bounced two or three times before it reached 300 yards.
Gravity is a constant, you know.
You did notice there was no recoil??
In other scenes he was prone.
The recoil very well could have broken his shoulder blade, if there was recoil.
I was in High School (Grant High School in Van Nuy, CA) with Tommy boy.

Watch it again.
He's got the elevation adjusted way up, and there was recoil ( though the camera changes just as it's happening).

On an episode of either Hollywood weapons or Gun Stories ( can't remember which or find it on YouTube) Tom mentions having actually taken the shot,  but I do not know exactly whe he meant and have no other information.
