moly coated pellets....

has anyone done moly coated pellets?  like benchrest shooters do with powder burners?  in theory it should work the same?

I read somewhere recently( can't remember where) that although it really seems to be a great idea, it just doesn't seem to work out that way. They felt that it ends up building up in the barrel and it ends up reducing accuracy instead of making it tighter. I believe they were initially speaking about a lube treatment for pellets from across the pond, and coated pellets got dragged into the discussion. They were also pretty negative about teflon and moly treatments for barrels for the same reasons. I think most of the stuff we find on pellets out of the box is more of an anti-oxidant than a lube.

Now that is not a good idea. It will surely contaminate the barrel and impact velocity as well as accuracy.
