RWS 12 land vs 8 land?

Is there a big difference between the two barrels? I know there is a lot of hype over the 12 land vs 8 land. I would just like to hear some opinions and/or experiences. Thanks in advance. I found a rifle RWS 350 Feuerkraft with 12 land at an extremely low price (seems too good to be true) but I am hesitant to pull the trigger.

Been waiting for this monster to raise it's head again.
From all I have read it is more the user than the BBL that suffers from the 12 land BBL which they say comes from China. I have several Chinese guns and one German and all my Chinese guns out perform my RWS 34P. I have never taken the time to count the lands in the gun but I attribute the troubles to the vibration of the stock not the BBL. I have read where a couple of people we very happy with the 12 land gun and swear they think it is more accurate than the other guns they have that have German made barrels. So again maybe it is just that people get to absorbed in the Chinese VS. German manufacturing rather than just shoot an enjoy.

Got the 12 land 34 .22 about 2 years ago, fell in love with it. Shot JSB diabolo stratan jumbo 16 grain with great accuracy, next was the preds. This was the best airgun I have laid my hands on in all my younger years of shooting AG's.
1 year later I get the 8 land 34 .177 and like its brother was wicked ,it liked the 7.9 cphp's, both are t05's and have the wood stock.
After shooting them for a length of time ,never knowing the difference, I favored the 12 land .22 for its overall shooting characteristics. The accuracy wass the same if I did my part they would shoot a one hole group at 20 yards that could easily be covered by a dime with room.
I love them both and glad I got them...

I would worry about. I have both and the most I have noticed is the 12 lands are pellet fussy , but once you find the right one they are accurate. The 12 lands seem to have larger bores then the 8's. Mine Likes larger head pellets.
After all most of the fun is trying different ammo.

I have to jump in here even though we've been over this,,BUT,I used to have a discontent for my 12 groove barrel, but No more.I was feeling real good this morning so I did a couple 10 shot groups and since finding the H&N FTT's 14.66 grainers,,my rifle's right on the money.Don't be deterred by the T05 trigger either as mine right now is about as sweet as it can be,(And so is my PG2 350 Magnum).
I would like to try a T06,,but id it's better than these,,well it must be something else.At 711 fps with FTT's,,I'm Happy as a Clam.
JMHO, Thanks

I just counted the lands in my rws guns for the first time. Ive had my 177 350 for about 2 yrs and never knew or cared how manh lands it had. Only thing i cared about was hitting my targets. I have shot grackles in the head from 35 yds out a window across my back yard under the boat trailer to the target with no worries. Ive also shot over a 100 yds with it. Like said above its most likely in the shooters head.
Also on the triggers, the t06 is better than the t05 but that does not mean the t05 is bad. Its a vreat trigger also. My friends that have shot my rws rifles love them and so do I. If its a great deal go for it. As long its in good mechanical shape i think youll be happy.

I had the other version(ones that do not shoot) of the 12 lands in .177. Two different rifles neither would NOT shoot when compared to my 8 land T06 version.
The T05 trigger is not bad out of the box compared to Titan/B18 trigger its a dream trigger. The T06 is better WHEN adjusted properly

If you guys want to obsess over the number of lands and grooves, be my guest. This horse is dead and dry bones by now. Please, much "information" has been posted here, on the Yellow and Dianawerk in the past six months concerning this topic. I'm certainly not one to jump into a thread with "Ever heard of the search function???" but, in this case, I'll ask that the curious do a search here and on the forums aforementioned. And you might want to pack a lunch, 'cause it's gonna be a long session!
