Talking Air Venturi .25 cal Air Bolts

So I heard they are testing the fletching for those arrows, now I'm wandering if those bolts would actually still be accurate sans fletching, I know that FX uses non fletched arrows,
wander if Air Venturi has tested those bolts naked.

looking here for some input from folks that know about this things, also hoping Pyramyd Air chimes in ( I'll link this thread to the PA gate )

Hi Manny
The 25 cal air bolts I handle at Shot Show did not have conventional fletching.
The person I spoke to said it they are using micro fletching ( series of little bumps on the arrow) they claimed help stabilized the arrow.
Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to try them

The red tape bands on the arrows are the micro fletching ( the two arrows on the right)

So they are kind of like a stick with some electrical tape on the end to seal and center the arrow.

In theory with enough FOC"Front of Center"  fletchings become obsolete because your aiming the head "tip" of the bolt and the entire shaft acts as a drag induced fletching .

From what we know Air Venturi .25 air bolts will not have traditional fletchings.

Big question, will they be able to be shot through a baffled shroud and or LDC ?

...that would be a big plus.

Keep in mind that air bolt tip will stick out from the barrel muzzle, regardless of either It's shrouded so that should not be a factor.

Yes, but will the mini fletching catch in the baffles ?

It will not, based on the tests we have done in house. But then again, they are not quite finished, so better wait till we get the production samples.

I've been waiting for .357 & .25 bolts for well over a year now. Grandma was slow, but she was old. Not sure what Air Venturi's excuse is for not having them by now.

So curious why the .357 have been out of production that long and also curious why the .25s never came to be.

NO clue why the .357 has not been in stock for a year. With the .25 I can see an issue finding a shaft that has sufficient spine for the load given that the shaft has to be about .22 or less. With that tiny clearance just a bit of flex and a problem occurs quickly damaging the shaft / barrel or negatively affecting POI.

I know this is a old thread but, I got a hankering of making a .308 caliber air bolt.  Has anyone here tried? I think it can be done.
