Tale of two tanks

I wanted a carbon fiber tank for my new Texan LSS 257.  I looked in two places, Ebay and TalonTunes, Ebay being much cheaper than Tony.  $150.00 vrs $215.00.

I tried a seller on Ebay, but he could not come through, a USA sales that needed to ship from China, so I tried a 2nd on a Ebay offer which was not accepted, then I tried  yet another Ebay seller and it looked at first like I was getting the Chinese bait and switch again.

So Saturday I tried Tony, he had a .53 L bottle which I purchased.

Then the Chinese .5L tank arrived so I will have two carbon fiber bottles, both most likely being Chinese products.

Tony’s tank is a 3650 PSI drop in tank.  The Ebay tank, 4500 psi,  I was told sometimes is too thick in the neck to get through the end of the Airforce receiver to lock up properly and at times needs to have material removed to allow proper fitting.

I disinfected the Chinese tank carefully, a sign of today’s times, installed the Airforce valve and screwed it together, filled it to 3600 psi and it works fine.

Tony’s tank arrives today, again a larger .53L 3650 psi tank.

Bear in mind I only need 3600 psi for my Texan LSS, both will work fine, but which one would you guys keep and which one would you sell?

My guess would be that the TT tank is Korean made, not Chinese. That's the one I'd keep personally

Compare the two.  If the chinese tank has too large a neck, and might be too long to comfortably shoulder, then of course the nod goes to the TT tank.  But, maybe the longer tank (if the chinese tank is indeed longer) will be more comfortable to shoulder. 

I have and use both tanks and like both, so I couldn't choose between the two.

Get one of Doug's valves and install it in the spare tank.... Problem solved....

I have the chinese tank on the Texan as I write this, makes the Texan LSS a nice light rifle that you can pole vault with over barbed wire fences.

Perhaps one of Doug’s valves on a Texan 457 Carbine?  Bob you are an enabler.

Speaking of enablers, Doug Russell says he is starting my Mad Dog stock today, luckily I only have one of those coming.

Talon Tunes sells Inocom tanks that originate in Korea. They are rated for 250 bar (3626 psi). I think the OP is referring to a TT .58L (580cc) tank, not .53L. The Chinese tanks have a thicker aluminum core and are rated for 300 bar (4350 psi) and the neck is slightly thicker. The .58L Talon Tunes tank is slightly longer than the .5L (500cc) Chinese tank. I have both in my arsenal as well as a 480cc TT tank and a 350cc Chinese (Acecare) tank.

I've been using an AceCare tank 4350 psi for years now. It is now on the Mini Raptor now transplanted fro the .257 Talon/Dor. Really makes ha huge difference!
